Review

Bad judgment is the first book I have read by Meghan March and I know I will be reading more from her. She created an entertaining, enemies-to-lovers story that is sweet, steamy, and funny with just enough drama to keep you on your toes.

Justine is beautiful, hardworking and focused on one goal: graduate from law school and make something of herself. She is determined to put her rough childhood behind her and prove that pasts do not define people. Justine has been turning down Ryker for the past two years and she isn’t interested in changing that. She doesn’t have time for distractions and that is exactly what Ryker would be.

Ryker is the campus hottie and dubbed “King of the Douche Bags” by Justine. He is super attractive and smart, and gets any girl her wants…except Justine. He would do anything for a date with her and he thinks he finally found a way to do that. That is until he screws it up at the beginning of summer. Now he’s left trying to figure out how to get her to give him a second-chance when school starts again in the Fall.

Everything was going according to plan for Justine and she was set to graduate on time until the school eliminates the merit scholarships, including hers. She is stuck scrambling for a job to pay her tuition and doesn’t now how she will make ends meet. It seems the only thing she can think of is stripping. Then she is given the chance to tutor a student in exchange for tuition payment and it looks like things may work out. Only problem – the student is Ryker. Will Justine be able to keep her feelings under wraps while tutoring the hottest guy in school who is determined to make her his?

Ryker won’t stay in the neat little box where I’m trying to keep him. The kisses, dinner . . . he’s blurring the lines. This is about focusing on the goal, not letting myself get distracted. I steal another glance at Ryker from under my lashes. No matter how sexy and tempting the distraction is.

Justine and Ryker seem to be opposites, and you know what they say, “opposites attract.” And boy do they ever in Bad Judgment. The chemistry is hot and the tension is high. Though it starts as a slow burn, when these two get together, it is explosive! The banter is funny and full of innuendoes that just don’t quit. Justine and Ryker are fun, witty characters and Ryker always seems to have something up his sleeve.

“You gotta let me buy you something, otherwise there’s no date in study date.”
I hit him with a serious stare. “That’s not how this works. We come. We
study. We leave.”
“If we were doing this my way, you’d definitely be coming.”

I really liked these two! I admired that Justine wants to be a lawyer to make a difference in people lives. She was hard working and wanted so badly to succeed and put her past behind her. I knew she needed to let loose and who better to do that with than Ryker.

“I want it all, Justine. Including the chance to show you how fucking amazing life can be when you let a few distractions in.”

Ryker was such a great character. He was sweet and swoon worthy, and I loved that he didn’t want Justine for just her looks – her smarts seriously turned him on. I loved his persistence even when she kept turning him down and his determination to be with her. Watching Ryker pursue Justine put a smile on my face and couldn’t wait to see what all he would do to try to convince her to date him.

I want her addicted to me.
It’s only fair, because I’ll never get enough of her.

There is more to the story than just the romance though.  It has twists and turns I didn’t see coming and was entertaining and fast-paced. I would say there was bit too much stuff going on in the last 20% though. I liked the twists but there was a lot that popped up and I felt that everything was rushed, including the ending. Overall it was very enjoyable and I definitely want to read more from Meghan March!!!
