From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Max Monroe comes a new standalone romantic comedy.

Lola

My name is Lola Sexton, and I’m a sex addict.
Okay…that’s a lie.
Truth is, I’m a serial dater turned dating and relationship columnist for The San Francisco Times. My readers call me Sex. Sex Says.
I love my job.
I love my life.
And I hate Reed Luca.

Reed

My name is Reed Luca, and I’m a liar.
Ironically, that’s the truth.
I’m 31, and my occupation is…well, complicated.
My favorite kind of woman comes in all shapes and sizes, but always has a big brain.
I’ve never hated anything.
Lola Sexton hates me.
Luckily, it’s a thin line between love and hate, and with my help, pretty Lola will only be able to straddle that line for so long.

4 “This is love” stars

“Some of the best love stories start off with the two people not liking each other.”

Sex Says by Max Monroe is another romantic comedy to add to your list if it’s not already on it! This entertaining story is sweet, sexy, and hilarious, and will have you falling in love with its quirky characters and the unique storyline.

Lola Sexton writes the dating and relationship column, Sex Says, for the San Francisco Times. She’s a hit among her followers, and her funny, eccentric personality shines through her writing. She doesn’t have a ton of real relationship experience but she doesn’t let that stop her from making Sex Says successful.

Reed Luca is eccentric in his own way. He is sweet, sexy, and smart, but he does not conform to the norms of society. He jumps between jobs and enjoys the freedom it brings. He’s a lover, not a fighter, so it’s a shock when he finds himself reacting strongly to a particular Sex Says column. It only takes that one post to spark a feud between Lola and Reed that will put them on the fast track to a surprising relationship no one would have seen coming.

Simple action—a woman walking into a bar—but it was crazy how much more remarkable it felt. It didn’t just feel like she was walking into Bitters, Bock & Rye—it felt like she was walking into my life.

Sex Says was so much fun! The plot was interesting and the story was different than what we’ve seen from this duo but no less enjoyable. I really enjoyed the characters, who were awesome together as well as individually. I liked the way Reed was written and that he was secure and confident with his life style. He was a fun guy who grabs your attention immediately. He loves to mess with people and he can’t help but push all of Lola’s buttons which is hilarious to watch. I thought his matter-of-fact attitude was refreshing and HOT!

“I think you know I’m not like most men, Lo. I don’t waste my time with games. I do what I say, and I say what I mean. And when I say I want to taste you, I fucking mean it.”

Lola was like an adult kid and a total hoot. Her quirky personality was instantly lovable and I loved that she was a total surprise to Reed. I found it comical how much she tried to deny her feelings when really there was no questioning that there is a fine line between love and hate, especially for these two.

I loved that neither respond to situations the way the other expected which in turn drives the two of them absolutely crazy. The epic banter was everything I expected and so much more. The back and forth via emails was hilarious and the start to a solid relationship that was totally unexpected to the outside world. It was wonderful to watch them challenge each other. I loved their unconditional support, that they accepted one another completely for who they were as individuals, and how completely taken they were with each other.

Though this story had insta-lust, it was a slow-burn romance that was well paced and believable. I loved the enemies–to–lovers trope and this one was so well done. No matter how Lola tried to fight it and convince herself that she hated Reed, they couldn’t break the connection that was drawing them together.

I didn’t just feel his touch. I felt his touch—static, that rare crackling in the air that happens between two people who are drawn to one another. I was an annoyed and pissed-off woman, and he was the world’s most irritating human being—there should have been nothing.
But there was something.
I felt it, I saw it, I fucking tasted it.

There was so much sexual tension laced throughout this story that you could cut it with a knife. Their chemistry is sizzling and I could feel all the pent up sexual frustration grow with every interaction and I knew they would inevitably combust. Mostly, I loved watching this story unravel, seeing their connection only get stronger the more they deny it, and the love that bloomed between these two characters.

Reed This: Sometimes people can be at two ends of a line and end up next to one another. Because intimacy and love – they’re powerful enough to curve that line into a circle.

In true Max Monroe style, along with the comedy, a little drama is thrown into the mix adding the angst that makes you even more eager for Lola and Reed to get their HEA. The beautiful epilogue, perfect and unique to Lola and Reed, left me with the biggest smile. Overall, Sex Says is another fantastic rom com from Max Monroe and I loved it!

“Reed Luca, are you sweet on me?” I whispered and placed a soft kiss to the corner of his mouth.
He smirked. “You bet your sweet ass I am.”
