6 Stars!!!

Utterly, utterly amazing! OMG, what an incredible book!

I am absolutely in love with Sky and Holder. Their story made me laugh, cry, squee and swoon, and I loved every single freaking minute of it!!!

The book starts off as an amazing YA romance, with Sky meeting Holder, a gorgeous yet mysterious boy with secrets in his past. They have an intense chemistry from the very beginning, and as they spend time together and start to fall for each other, every moment between them was like crack for me! I couldn’t get enough, and just wanted more… MORE! They are so open and honest with each other, and whether they were joking, bantering, teasing, talking seriously, fighting or being all swoony, it was all completely perfect, and I never wanted it to end!

And then there’s a huge shift in the story when Sky and Holder’s pasts come crashing in on them. From the beginning it is clear that they have both lived through some hard times (even though Sky has no memory of hers), and the conspiracy theorist in me thought I had figured out their big secrets, but when it came out, it totally knocked me on my ass! And then it all just kept unfolding and I was completely gobsmacked… and horrified… and broken hearted. The emotion poured into the last 40% or so of this book is absolutely phenomenal! It’s like a constant rollercoaster that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn’t flick pages fast enough!

Hoover does an incredible job of getting the reader inside of Sky’s head, and even though the story is told completely from her POV, you feel everything that Holder is going through as well. So you’re going through every little moment with them, and it’s just gut-wrenching. But through it all Sky and Holder are there for each other, holding strong, and finding their way through it together, and their moments together during this part of the book are so incredibly beautiful, I was in tears – more than once.

The swoon! OMG, the swoon! It’s epic, every little moment of it is absolutely epic – but never over the top. There are some steamy moments in the book, but they are such an important part of the story. Every moment between them is significant to them and their struggle to overcome the bad and move on with the good. And despite all they are going through, Sky and Holder are both nothing but real with each other. The love that they have for each other is incredibly strong, and I love how they never hold anything back.

“Keep them open,” I whisper, pulling away from his lips. He opens them, regarding me with an intensity that penetrates straight to my core. “I want you to keep them open… because I need you to watch me give you the very last piece of my heart.”

*sob*

Despite the heavy subject matter, this is not a depressing read. It’s about learning how to let go of the past, stand strong and move forward, trusting in the people that you love, and who love you.

“I swear I will spend every last breath thanking you for allowing yourself to love me.”

This is a beautifully written, incredible book, that I know will stay with me for a long time to come. Colleen Hoover, you are the master of YA romantic drama.

6 sensational stars.
