4 “cher” stars!

Easy Love is the first book in the Boudreaux series by Kristen Proby. I had heard a lot of good things about this series so I am glad I finally started it!

Eli Boudreaux is a gorgeous, smart, sexy, charming 30 year old and the CEO of the family business, Bayou Enterprises. Eli is extremely hardworking and successful and focuses so much on work that he is left with very little time for relationships. He works alongside two of his siblings, Beau and Savannah, and it comes to their attention that someone is stealing money from the company. They decide they need to take care of this problem as soon as possible and Savannah’s best friend, Kate, is the perfect person for the job.

Kate O’Shaughnessy is a beautiful, sweet, strong, and caring woman who is great at her job. She is confident the investigation will only take 4-6 weeks and that she will be able to find out who is stealing from Bayou Enterprises. She is brought on immediately and Savannah makes it clear to Eli that Kate is off limits.

There is an instant attraction between Eli and Kate, but they know it is best if they do not get involved. Kate is best friends with not only Savannah but also her twin brother, Declan. Kate and Eli do not want to cause any problems between everybody if things don’t work out for them. Of course, it’s only a matter of time before they cross the line. And when they finally do, it is explosive. Their chemistry is off the charts both in and out of bed.

“Let me make it clear; we can have sweat dripping, sheet ripping, furniture breaking, screaming, trembling, hair pulling, ass smacking fucking for hours, or soft, sweet, quiet, intense lovemaking for days. You can have either or both, but we’re not leaving here without me being inside you, sugar.”

They both know that Kate is leaving in a few weeks so they know this is a short lived relationship. But there is something about Kate that changes Eli.

My life has been in black and white for the past two years, and the minute she walked through my office door, everything was in blazing color.

When more develops between Kate and Eli and her investigation comes to an end they have to figure out their feelings and where their relationship is headed.

“I fell into such an easy love with you, I didn’t even realize it was happening, until one day, it was everything.”
“You don’t do love,” I reply.
“I didn’t,” he agrees with a half-smile. “But you made the man who was incapable of love fall in love with you.”

I really liked Kate and Eli. They were a sweet couple who made me giggle throughout the book.

“Say fuck, Kate, it’s okay.”
“I don’t swear,” she whispers. “I have enough Catholic guilt as it is.”
“Just this once. I won’t tell.” My lips are tickling hers as I talk, and I feel the shiver run through her. She licks her lips and swallows thickly, and I’ve never been so hard in my damn life. “Say it.”
“Fuck,” she whispers, and I crush my mouth to hers, kissing her with all the pent up frustration and need that I have inside me.

And of course there were tons of moments that made me swoon. I loved them together and how they supported each other, but I also loved them separately. Eli definitely acted like an alpha but he was such a charmer too. I also loved how strong Kate was.

“I am enough the way I am”

Along with a sweet romance there is the mystery of who is stealing the money. I guessed early on who the criminal was but it was still entertaining.

*Note: Sebastian York and Rachel Fulginiti are the narrators of the audiobook for Easy Love. Being only the third audiobook I have ever listened to, I am still getting used to how the books are read. I enjoyed this audiobook and felt like Sebastian did a great job from the start. It took me a little while to warm up the Rachel’s voice but I did enjoy both narrators by the end of the book. I look forward to reading about the other Boudreaux siblings in the following books.
