“Are you here to save me?”

Confess is an emotional love story that is original and captivating. Colleen Hoover does an amazing way of bringing the characters to life so you immediately connect with them. You feel the emotion they go through and can’t help but get lost in their love story no matter how much pain you have to endure before your heart is healed. It was honest, real, and raw, and I devoured every part of this story.

I loved both Auburn and Owen from the beginning. Auburn is doing the best she can with the hand she was dealt. She is strong and determined to make things right and I loved how hard she worked. She is closed off and Owen has a way of getting her to open up.  Owen was patient with her and gave her comfort when she needed it most. He is totally swoon worthy and easily melted my heart. I loved all the sides of Owen – flirtatious, serious, broody, and playful. He has such a huge heart and you know he would do anything for the ones he loved.

“If I had known you would show up at my door one day. I’d have done everything differently. Everything.”

Owen and Auburn have an instant connection and their chemistry is electric. I loved how natural they were together. Their friendship didn’t feel forced and the progression of their relationship was realistic even though they fell hard and fast. I felt the emotion between them from the heart pounding moments to the heart breaking events. There were so many feels throughout the book that I couldn’t get my own emotions in check.

He kisses me like he’s giving me every kiss he wished he could have given me in the past, and every kiss he’ll wish he could give me in the future.
All of them, all at once.

Though different in many ways, Auburn and Owen fit together perfectly. They both have secrets they keep hidden and tragic pasts that seep into the present. My heart broke for both of them when I learned what they went through. No matter how different their circumstances were, they both showed their strength and were committed to figuring out how to change their lives. I felt the hurt, confusion, and frustration both had with their own situations. I also felt the vast amount of love they both were capable of giving.

There were several twists and the surprises were jaw dropping. The story continued to get more complex as the pages turned and as I read the ending, I was stunned. It was perfect and so much more than I could have asked for as it connected everything together.

I could tell her how I know her. Make her realize why I have this overwhelming urge to protect her. But some secrets I’ll take to my grave, and this is definitely one of them.

*Note: I listened to the audiobook of Confess and it was spectacular. Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise do a wonderful job at narrating this story and I highly recommend it!
