4 stars!

Aurora Rose Reynolds is a go-to author for sweet, easy, sexy and heartfelt love stories that are low-angst and leave me feeling good, and this book is exactly that. A quick and easy read that is low on drama with a gorgeous romance, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Gia Caro turns her life upside down when she learns that her beloved Grandmother is ill and she temporarily packs up her life in Chicago and heads to the small town of Ruby Falls in Tennessee to care for her.

Colton Allyster is an ex-Marine and home-town hero whose life changed after he was injured while on deployment. He picked himself up and started over, but it’s not until Gia walks into his bar looking for work that he truly gets his spark back.

There is an immediate attraction between Gia and Colton, but he is perceptive enough to recognise that she’s going through an emotional upheaval so he doesn’t push her… until trouble finds her, and alpha, no-nonsense Colton can’t keep his distance any longer.

“I want you to let me in. I want you to let me be there for you when you need me.”
“Colton,” I start, but he pulls his feet off the rail and stands.
Leaning over me, he wraps his hand around my jaw, forcing me to look into his eyes. “Let me in, Gia,” he urges, before bending at the waist and pressing his lips to my forehead.

This is such a gorgeous love story. The book moves quickly, but the romance is sweet with a nice build-up, there’s lots of flirting, teasing and steamy kisses, and Gia and Colton find themselves easily and naturally falling for each other, and I got happily swept up in all of the emotion, sexy time and swoon.

I’m falling fast, and there is not one thing I can do about it. really, I’m not sure I’d want to stop myself, even if I could.

Their relationship is angst-free but there is drama that they need to deal with. Admittedly it is a little eye-rolling at times, but thankfully it’s all external to the relationship, and we get to see Colton and Gia working through everything together functionally and sensibly as they build something special together.

“I love you, Gia. Had no idea what love was until you, but I know now, and I know I’ll always cherish everything you’ve given to me.”

Oh Colton, what a gorgeous romantic hero! He’s sweet yet strong, real, funny, sexy, and not afraid to follow his heart. He’s basically the perfect man and I absolutely loved him! And I also loved Colton’s best friend, Tide (yes, that is actually his name). His situation is just screaming out for a story, and I’m really excited that he will be getting the next book in this series. I’ll be jumping all over that when it’s released.

The story ends with a gorgeous epilogue which finishes everything off beautifully, and I finished this book with a big goofy smile on my face.

A truly gorgeous read. 4 stars.
