I absolutely loved The Play, so when I saw there was a Christmas novella featuring Lachlan and Kayla I knew I had to read it. I absolutely adore them as a couple and was so excited to see more of them!!

Winter Wishes starts out around two weeks after the end of The Play. Kayla is back with Lachlan in Edinburgh and they are making plans for Christmas. Christmastime is hard for Kayla because she is still mourning the loss of her mother and trying to move on. She is nervous about spending time with Lachlan’s family after everything they went through. Lachlan is battling his addiction and is apprehensive about spending time with his uncle. However, he still tries to make the best of it and get her in the Christmas spirit.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. I loved seeing Kayla and Lachlan together again. The support they have for each other is beautiful.

You’re not just connected to that person, you are that person. Kayla knows me, all of me, and embraces every lost, crooked, damaged part. I never have to say anything with her. She’s inside me—she knows. And she loves me despite all that.

There are many sweet moments, and of course, there is steam and Lachlan’s dirty mouth comes out to play. It’s also wonderful seeing more of Briggs and Lachlan’s parents. This novella was a lovely addition to Lachlan and Kayla’s story.
