4 stars!

End Game is here and we finally get the finale of Shane and Emily’s story. After the shocking cliffy at the end of Bad Deeds I knew I needed this book ASAP! It jumps right back into the action we’ve come to expect and enjoy from this series. Everything is in chaos. Derek and Emily are covered in blood and Shane can’t do anything to help them. Lives are at risk as is the company and Shane has to overcome many challenges to make things right, all while keeping the ones he loves safe.

End Game is emotional, captivating, and entertaining. The story is well developed the anticipation of what’s to come as we approach the climax of the story is well done. It was riveting and suspenseful as things transpire and there are events I didn’t see coming that make the situation more complex.

Shane is angry, afraid, and desperately wants control. When his world was flipped upside down, he knows what he needs to do. He is smart, resourceful, and I loved watching him deal with everything head on. The darkness still lurks inside him and I was so curious how things were going to play out.

Wearing those bloodstained clothes is like wearing the self-blame and guilt. You might even decide it’s what you deserve, but those things can be dangerous if unchecked.
Dangerous.
Me.
Unchecked.
Yes, I am.
And everyone responsible for today is going to find that out.
I’m keeping the clothes and the memories they represent.

Emily is a strong, brave heroine who has a backbone. She stands her ground when she is passionate about something and she reasonably handles everything thrown her way. She is a constant when Shane needs her the most and is his strength and the glue that holds him together. I think she is the perfect person to keep him grounded and the support and love she gives him is unwavering. I am confident that Emily is the only one who can truly be with Shane and love him for all he is including his faults.

“Stop holding back.” She grabs my shirt. “Stop holding things back from me. I want the good, the bad, and the ugly.”

Shane and Emily love with fierce passion. It’s a beautiful intensity that is all consuming. The pain and suffering they endure make their relationship stronger and they accept each other unconditionally. They are steamy together but they are also so sweet as they show each other just how much they mean to each other. Towards the end Shane gets super swoony and I couldn’t keep the giddiness away. The ending wraps everything up nicely with a wonderful HEA but still leaves room for more if that is the way Lisa Renee Jones wants to go.

“Somehow, you manage to give me everything I don’t know I want and prove it’s everything I do want and even need.”

Overall, End Game was a great conclusion to Emily and Shane’s story. I’m invested in these characters so I am excited that Seth, Shane’s right-hand man, is getting his own story in 2018!
