Review

OH MY GOD, THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!!!!

It’s 2.45am and I’ve just finished this book after reading it in one sitting. I absolutely could not put it down. Fantastic banter, sarcastic humour and EPIC angst and sexual tension, there’s also a strong supernatural element to things just to make things extra interesting.  I was glued from start to finish, and my heart pounded pretty much all the way through.  I’m so freaking excited that I can’t even write a proper review, just a quick gush.

Grace is not your ordinary girl.  She has a secret, a big one, and it’s one that has kept her closed off for most of her life.  When her best friend drags her out to meet her new boyfriend, she also meets his friend, Shane, and the two of them are drawn to each other in a way that surprises them both.  But Shane is a commitment-phobic manwhore, and Grace once experienced a soul-changing, forever kind of love and still suffers from its loss, and she refuses open her heart to anybody until she finds it again.

The stage is set for an epic battle as Grace and Shane fall and fall hard for each other, with Grace trying hard to protect her heart, and Shane trying to convince her that she can trust him.

“Please Grace, whatever it is you’re going after, please try to find it here in me. I will try my best to be the man that you need me to be.”

Swoooooon!

OMG, these characters are sensational!  Shane is utter tattooed, rock-god, man whore perfection! Like a combination of Travis Maddox and Kellan Kyle. God, no wonder I fell in instant love with him! Grace is a very complex character, but I absolutely loved her, and the chemistry between her and Shane is freakishly intense. My heart was pounding through a number of their little ‘moments’, and I kept screeching at my kindle for them to JUST GET IT ON ALREADY!!!!

“Tell me. Tell me, Grace, that you don’t feel this. Please. Tell me and I will walk right out of here”

By the time they actually kissed I had worked myself up into a ridiculous frenzy that I squeed and cheered for them! But the pacing of it all was brilliant, and I loved the way it played out. And the banter! Oh so much banter, awesome!

“Hey, you coming to the bar tonight?” he called out after me.
I stopped and turned around, “Maybe, I don’t know. I have to see how I feel after a shower.”
A smile burst onto his face, making him more stunning than it was humanly possible. “Do you need help with that? I’d like to see how you feel after a shower too…”

The boys from the band were sensational, as was Grace’s best friend, Lea. All of them hilarious, and gorgeously caring and supportive.

The whole paranormal aspect is hinted at as you go along, and you pick up little clues here and there until the big reveal. It’s a fantastic concept, I really loved it.

I laughed, I swooned and I squeed, and then that gut-wrenching ending! OMG, talk about your cliffhangers. Thank God I’ve got the next book on standby and can start it straight away. MUST.HAVE.MORE!!!

5 sensational stars!
