Review

Oh Kitty French, you certainly know how to write an AMAZING leading man! And this time around we get not just one, but two hotties to lust after! The luscious Lucien Knight is back in all of his sexy, smutty glory, and so we get the beautiful ending to his and Sophie’s story, and we also get a second love story for Sophie’s best friend, Kara and the also luscious newcomer, Dylan Day.

Lucien, Sophie and Kara all find themselves in Ibiza, there to open up Lucien’s latest club, and the girls’ sexy boutique. Lucien and Sophie are still beautifully loved up, but Kara is recovering from having her heart horribly broken, and has temporarily sworn off men *snort*.

Coming to ruin her plans is the mysterious Dylan. Running away from the dramas of his life back in the US, he has reinvented himself on arrival in Spain, and when he unexpectedly runs into Lucien at his unfinished club, Lucien offers him the job of Manager. Eager to make a new life for himself, Dylan jumps at the opportunity, setting up an inevitable run in with gorgeous and feisty Kara.

When Kara and Dylan first lay eyes on each other, sparks fly and the chemistry between them is sizzling! Kara is very much a ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of girl, and I love that. She is intelligent, she speaks her mind, she doesn’t play games, and even though she was meant to be staying away from men, she can’t resist the draw of the sexy American, and the two of them very quickly dive into a hot and oh-so-steamy affair.

And holy freaking hotness, the sexy time is sizzling! For both couples! I highly recommend you have a fan or some kind of squirty bottle to cool yourself down with while reading this! We all know that Lucien is passionate and adventurous in the bedroom (and out of it of course *wink*), but Dylan has also got some sensational moves, and a dirty, dirty mouth, and Kitty doesn’t hold back when it comes to any of her (numerous) love scenes.

“You like dirty talk, English?” The involuntary yelp that left her body was confirmation enough for both of them. “You want me to tell you how good it feels to spread your legs wide open and fuck you.”

Phew! But even though this series is classed as erotica, there is a big focus on the emotion. While lust is definitely the overriding emotion to begin with, it doesn’t take long before Dylan and Kara start to fall for each other, and it’s natural, realistic, beautifully paced and full of feeling.

“I could love you, Dylan Day.”
He kissed her again, open-mouthed, his hands in her hair. “I could love you too.”

But Kara has been broken by men lying to her in her past and she has a low tolerance for dishonesty, and Dylan has a past shrouded in secrecy. When those secrets come crashing down around him, will Kara be able to deal with the big revelations?

“I’d rather have ugly truths than pretty lies.”

And those revelations are pretty massive! I thought I knew what was going on in his past, but when it all came out, O.M.G! I loved the big reveal, and the twists that were involved. Definitely not what I was expecting, and I LOVE the direction that the story took.

It’s all beautifully woven into Sophie and Lucien’s story, and we get lots of time with the two of them as their passionate relationship continues (drama free! WIN!). Again, there is lots of steamy time, but their mad, soul-deep love for each other is beautifully evident and the progression of things between them had me swooning madly, and even tearing up a little bit.

“Lying with you beneath the northern lights, or here beneath the Spanish sun… you’re my Viking and my sunshine.” The tears ran unchecked down her cheeks now. “You’re my hero, Lucien Knight.”

“You’re
my fucking hero, Sophie.”

Oh swoon! There is sooooo much swoon in this book! So many beautiful moments.

“I love you, and I want you, and I need you so much it hurts to wake up in the morning without you.”

In addition to the romance, the two couples have a great relationship with each other. Of course Sophie and Kara are already BFFs, but Lucien is gorgeously protective over Kara, who he considers his sister, and the developing relationship between the two guys as they grow close and develop a strong friendship is sensational.

“I know this kind of talk makes you freak out, but I’m gonna say it anyway,” Dylan said, laughing softly. “I fuckin’ love you, man.”
“Jesus Christ,” Lucien muttered…
These days, their bond ran so much deeper; as close as brothers, the best of friends.
He met Dylan’s eye in a moment of silent acknowledgement, then shuddered despite the warmth of the evening. “And now I feel like we just had sex.”

I love this book! The combination of sex, love, fun and drama is a perfect mix, and it all flows beautifully from start to finish, ending with a fabulous epilogue that left me smiling and swooning like an idiot. I’m sad that this series is over, but it’s definitely one that I am going to reread over and over again.

“Say you’ll never go,” he said, even though he’d promised himself he wouldn’t ask it of her.
“Tell me you want me to stay forever,” she murmured, knowing he was the love of her lifetime.
“Always, English,” he said. “Always.”

*dreamy sigh*
