4.5 “We’ve totally got this.” stars

I love this book! It’s smart, it’s sexy, it’s hilariously funny, and the love story is absolutely gorgeous! I listened to this on audiobook but was so in love with it by the time I’d read the first couple of chapters that I had to get the kindle version as well so I could highlight my little heart out – so you’ll have to forgive my quote-whoreyness.

Hanna is a highly intelligent, slightly nerdy scientist who lives her life in her laboratory. She is perfectly content until she is called out by her big brother who encourages her to get out and get a social life – suggesting that she call his best friend, Will, for some tips on how to meet people and start dating. Hanna has always crushed on Will, but she cannot refuse a challenge, so she throws herself whole-heartedly into her new assignment.

Will Sumner is a player. The third member in the Bennet / Max / Will trio of friends from this series, he has set nights for hook ups with his fuck buddies, and lives a fairly controlled life. He hasn’t seen Hanna (aka ‘Ziggy’ – her childhood nickname) for years and is no way prepared for the bumbling, naïve bombshell that comes crashing into his world.

From the very first moment they reconnect and Will agrees to ‘coach’ Hanna, the dynamic between them is absolutely gold! Hanna is inexperienced and genuinely curious about all things dating and sex, and has absolutely no filter when it comes to asking questions or sharing her thoughts.

“I’m sure it’s not like that for guys. But for girls, after a while, you’re like . . . does the virginity grow back? Is it like moss over a cave?”
“That is a disgusting image.”

“Do you actually like doing sixty-nine? I mean, really … Your face is basically in someone’s ass.”

“Would you suck your own dick if you could?”

Will gives back just as good as he gets, and the flirting and banter is EPIC!

“I had a reduction when I was twenty-one,” which is when his expression morphed into one of horror.
You’d have thought I told him I made an amazing stew from tiny babies and puppy tongues.
“Why on earth would you do that? That’s like God giving you a beautiful gift and you kicking him in the nuts.”
I laughed. “God? I thought you were agnostic, Professor.”
“I am. But if I could motorboat perfect tits like yours I might be able to find Jesus.”
I felt my blush warm my cheeks. “Because Jesus totally lives in my cleavage?”
“Not anymore he doesn’t. Your boobs are now too small for him to be comfortable in there.”

There is no filter, no embarrassment, and it’s all incredibly honest with no game playing. He is teaching her the art of dating, and in turn they seduce each other into a mad frenzy.

“Hanna. I don’t know if I’ve ever wanted something more than I want you. I really don’t.”

As is to be expected from this series, this book is absolutely steaming hot! Dating lessons take a turn to the smutty side when their insane attraction and Hanna’s curiosity becomes too hard to ignore and they decide to take the lessons into the bedroom. And it’s blended really nicely with the development of genuine feelings between them. It makes the progression of their relationship feel very natural.

Ziggy was Jensen’s sister. Ziggy was the kid I never knew. Hanna was this uninhibited, self-possessed woman in front of me who I was pretty sure was going to effectively wreck my world.

I love this relationship! Absolutely love it! They tease and banter, their text messages are hilarious, they have fun, they have quiet time together, the sex is not only hot but insanely intimate, and I loved every moment of watching them fall for each other.

I barely registered the warmth of her arms around my shoulders the press of her kiss to my neck when I stilled on top of her, or the way she whispered, “Stay on top of me like this forever.”
“Don’t ever stop being so fucking open,” I murmured, pulling my gaze to her face. “Don’t stop asking for what you want.”
“I won’t,” she whispered. “I got you tonight, didn’t I?”
And just that simply, I was claimed.

But Hanna is frightened of Will’s reputation, and with both of them inexperienced with love and all of the feelings that come along with it and therefore nervous and unsure about how to move things forward, there is some miscommunication and drama – although there’s gotta be some sort of conflict to give us an awesome ending, so it didn’t bother me too much.

“I’m nervous all of a sudden, and I feel just like you’re mine only for these little bits of time. I guess I don’t like that as much as I thought I would.”
He slid his finger under my chin and tilted my face up so I had to look at him. His mouth pressed against mine, once, before he told me, “I’ll be yours every second if that’s what you want. You just have to tell me.”

Will and Hanna are sensational characters. Both confident, smart and witty and just a little bit nerdy, I loved seeing their vulnerabilities come out as they both started to feel things they haven’t felt before. Hanna is sweet and charming and I loved her instantly, and Will is pure perfection – the playboy with a heart of gold who falls madly in love with his best friend’s little sister. What’s not to love?

When I looked up and met her eyes, I lost it. She was staring at me and it was her – Hanna, this girl I saw every morning and fell in love with a little bit more every single time she opened her mouth.
It was so fucking real.

And, of course, there is the added bonus of seeing more of Bennet and Chloe, and Max and Sarah. This is a really tight bunch and their interactions were all fantastic. But nothing beats these boys all together.

“Ben,” Max said, leaning back in his chair with a giant grin. “It’s finally happened.”
I groaned, resting my head on my hand.
“You got your period?” Bennett asked. “Congratulations.”
“No, you twat,” Max said, laughing. “I’m talking about Will. He’s gone arse over tits for a girl.”

This is a such a great read. It’s fast paced, it’s fun, and it had me laughing out loud so many times! The sex is steamy, the romance is swoony, and the ending left me grinning like a loon and hugging my kindle – because by that point I was reading along while listening to the audiobook (speaking of which – Grace Grant and Sebastian York do an amazing job narrating this story as Hanna and Will. I highly recommend it to anybody who loves a good audiobook).

What more can I say? I loved it!
