Two words for this one – HOT DAMN!!! At the risk of sounding totally lame, this book left me breathless. God, that did sound lame didn’t it. But do you know what? I totally don’t care, because I ABSOLUTELY FREAKING LOVED IT!

This book follows on nicely from Unleashed and Rock Me, and in my opinion, is even better. Ghost and Macy were introduced in Rock Me, and there was a hint of something happening between them then. This book carries on from that, and it absolutely blew me away! Soooo much hotness!! I swear I spent most of this book fanning myself at the hotness that is Ghost, and the insane hotness that is Ghost and Macy together. In fact within the first 6% of the book they’re already at it!

For all of those Rock Me fans out there – yes, Brian and Candace are in this book – lots of Brian and Candace. As the respective best friends of Ghost and Macy, there is a lot of page-time with them both individually, and as a couple and their moments together are gorgeous as always. Evan and Kelsey from the first book even make a very small appearance.

Seth ‘Ghost’ Warren (yes, you find out why he’s called Ghost, and yes it’s freaking funny) is another tattooed, pierced, guitar-playing bad boy. He’s been hurt badly in past relationships, and is reluctant to get into anything too serious. He’s also got a lot of stuff going on in his life that he’s trying to deal with (a sick family member, band issues – yeah, he’s in a band *swoon*, a friend with drug problems and, just to round it all out, a psycho ex). But he can’t resist Macy and the intense chemistry between them, and within a few pages of him appearing in the book, he’s already making his move! He’s open, and honest, funny, and very caring and sweet, and I absolutely adored him!

Macy has her perfect life planned out and, after a life-altering accident a few years earlier, she finds herself a little bit lost and now lives her life very cautiously. Just once, she did something wild, and that thing was Seth, in the backseat of his car. She can’t forget about that night, or him, and when the gorgeous man himself comes back into town, clearly still interested in her and offering to help bring her out of her self-imposed cocoon, how can she resist (I certainly couldn’t!). I really liked Macy. She is a bit lost, but she’s still a strong character. I loved her honesty and her willingness to trust Seth, and the courage she shows in learning to go with her heart.

“I’m turning over a new leaf.”
He chuckled. The tip of his finger caught her under her chin, and it was enough to still all her movements. “Tell you what. If you need help with that, if you need someone to shut you up, or even if you just need to walk on the wild side every now and then… I’m your guy.”

These two together are just dynamite! The chemistry is off the freaking charts. The sex scenes are really steamy, and there are plenty of them, but they are beautifully written, and you can really feel the emotional connection that was going on between them. Just… Damn! But behind that is the underlying friendship, respect and genuine like that they have for each other. They both care deeply for the other, and with all of the things going on in their lives, they get the opportunity to be there for each other, providing encouragement and support, as well as maintaining a fantastically fun relationship with lots of teasing and joking (and hotness… did I mention the hotness?).

But, inevitably, with all of the dramas going on in their lives, as well as the obvious divide between their worlds, the set up is there for conflict, and conflict there is. And the question is – what happens to them when all of those pressures come crashing down?

Told in dual POVs, we get to follow Seth and Macy’s romance from both of their perspectives – from their steamy beginning, watching them fall hard for each other, and through the issues that they face as they struggle for their HEA.

This was a gorgeously romantic, sexy story with lots of funny moments, a bit of drama, and characters that I loved instantly. I thought the ending was a bit abrupt, and would have liked more resolution, and more of a ‘finished’ feeling to the story, but the rest of the book was so good, I was able to overlook it 🙂

4.5 stars – rounded up due to Seth and all of the epic hotness!
