Review

“A Maddox boy will take you all the way to the edge, but if you go with him, he’ll follow you anywhere.”

“He will love you with everything he has for as long as you let him.”

I am a mad fan of anything featuring Travis Maddox , and although I was a little apprehensive about reading this – not wanting it to ruin the utter, utter perfection of Beautiful Disaster – it turns out I’m just way to obsessed with my #1 bad boy to stay away.

If you haven’t read Beautiful Disaster, this is going to be a little spoilery, so I calmly suggest that you turn away from this review, put down whatever book you are reading now, go and buy it and start immediately!!

This book picks up at the scene where Abby proposes to Travis, and not only do we get the absolute bonus of having dual POV (WIN!), but we also get to see a little further into Abby’s thought processes and I’ve gotta say, I was pissed with her… AGAIN!

Spoiler
I’m really disappointed that THAT was the reason why she proposed, and my heart broke for poor Travis that that was what she was thinking, and she initially wasn’t fully committed. Although she (almost fully) redeemed herself later on, I’m yet again disappointed with Abby and her stupid lies, and the fact that she is still keeping things from Travis.

Of course Travis is absolute perfection. He is so crazy in love with his Pidge, and so happy and excited to be marrying her. You can feel his devotion to her and his passion for her, and he just proves once again what makes him so incredibly special. I read most of the novella with a huge grin on my face just soaking up his joy.

“My God, that woman was fucking sexy. She didn’t even have to try, and all I wanted was to be all up in her business. Now that we were engaged that didn’t sound like such a bastard thing to think.”

“I’m probably not going to make sense for the next six months while I try to process the fact that I’ve gotten everything I’ve ever wanted.”

Taking us beyond the end of Beautiful Disaster, we get to see a little bit into the future, and even though it was brief, I loved the glimpse we got of Travis and Abby living their lives together still madly in love and blissfully happy.

“Travis Maddox loved me in a way most people dreamed about.”

Featuring many beautifully swoony moments, an Elvis impersonator, one hot wedding night, a tear-inducing letter and one scary as all hell stripper, despite my early annoyance, I thought this was a great finish to Travis and Abby’s story.

“I want you to know that whatever love is, this has got to be it. We were best friends first, and we tried not to fall in love, and we did anyway. If you’re not with me, it’s not where I want to be. I’m in this. I’m with you.”

4 ‘I LOVE TRAVIS’ stars.
