Review

OMG this book is amazing!!! I finished it like, literally, 10 minutes ago, and I’ve been sitting up in my bed clutching it to my chest with a huge cheesy grin and just saying “oh my God, oh my God” over and over. I had to get up and gush a bit.

At the beginning I found it an enjoyable read, and I knew people on Goodreads had raved over this book, but I couldn’t really see why it was so sensational. It appeared to be your ordinary chick-lit romance, although with some cracking dialogue. But then I got sucked into the blossoming romance, the brilliant facebook updates and emails and trying to work out what the big secret was that nobody talked about. I found myself drawn more and more to the characters – one in particular 🙂 – wondering how the HEA was going to work out. And then, without being spoilerific, the big OMG moment happened (I may be a bit slow because I only picked up on it at the same time as our heroine). And truly – OMG! As I thought about the ramifications of it all I must had read the same page over about 5 times not taking in a word of it. I had to put my book down and sit and calm down for a bit before I could continue reading.

Jessica Park does a wonderful job pulling you into the Watkins family, and all of their dysfunctionality (is that even a real word?). The facebook status updates kept me laughing and Matt and Celeste’s stories broke my heart a little. I highly recommend this book to anybody who loves a great romantic story with a bit of family drama thrown in.

Now if you’ll excuse me I am off to read it all again!

As a side note – that drunken phone call was phenomenal! One of the funniest things I have read in a long time, I had tears rolling down my face.
