Having loved the other books I have read by Alessandra Torre, I am not surprised I enjoyed Love, Chloe as much as I did. It is a fun, light-hearted read written in short chapters that had me flipping pages quickly. I had such a hard time putting this book down when it was bed time because I kept saying “just one more chapter…”

Love, Chloe is a romance but it is so much more than that. It’s a coming of age story. Raised with more money than she could have ever asked for, Chloe grew up with everything and thought she had it all. Unfortunately for Chloe, her life is completely altered when her parents are arrested for criminal activities. Left to fend for her self, she is determined to make it on her own two feet.

This book is about Chloe’s journey to self discovery. With her world flipped upside down, she is left with the stark truth that her life just got a whole lot harder. She has very little money to her name, she has a tuition bill she needs to pay off to get her Diploma so she can get a good job, she needs to find a place to live, and she needs to feed herself. These things have her running to the only job she can get via a connection through her mother. Finally securing a job, she thinks things are looking up even though the job is not exactly what she wants and the boss is a nightmare.

Then she meets Carter, the gorgeous super of her apartment building. He is hardworking, trustworthy and loyal. Chloe is intrigued by Carter from the moment she sees him but really doesn’t see anything happening between them long term.

Blue-collar had never been my thing, too many millionaires in this city to bother with anything else. Then again, my tastes seemed to be changing. I might have to dip my toe into that pool once or twice. Just to taste that poison. Just to have it on my skin.

But as Chloe changes, she begins to realize that her life wasn’t as great as she thought it was and maybe, just maybe, Carter is good for her.

A small but of happiness sparked inside of me. Was this it? Could he be my person?
Could I do this? Could I be the girl who ran toward right instead of wrong?

He made me realize how empty my old life had been. And in his eyes, I saw a future that I wanted more of, a future where I was a better person.

While she is falling for Carter, Chloe is also battling her emotions towards her ex-boyfriend. He’s so familiar and is linked to her past that it’s hard for her to get out from under his grip. I thought her feelings were understandable and realistic. It’s easy to go back to what you know. I loved that she was strong enough by the end to know who her heart belonged to.

When I was little, my mom told me you should find a man who loved you more than you loved him. That way, she explained, you would never get hurt. In theory, it made sense. But now, I believed half of the beauty of love was in the loving.

Chloe’s friends were a huge part of her story. I loved their support and loyalty. And then there is Joey. I loved the relationship he formed with Chloe. He ended up being a very likable character and was a great fit with Chloe’s personality.

Chloe goes through a lot of growth throughout the story. She starts to realize how she used to look at the world isn’t the way she wants to be anymore.

Maybe the cultured, confident woman I was before was just a product of my parents’ money. Maybe now, with my new life a train wreck, I would discover the real Chloe Madison. And maybe, I wouldn’t like her.

I loved that she realized she was changing and that she started understanding how wrong she was in the past. How things she thought were important ended up being insignificant.

I looked at how much better my own life was without my parents’ money, and how much richer I was with him in my life.

Being inside Chloe’s head was a treat. She was a hoot and had me giggling throughout the book. I adored her social media posts and thought Alessandra did a great job with them. I looked forward to the updates as if I was looking at a friends account!

I highly recommend Love, Chloe if you are looking for a fun read!
