4 fun and sexy stars

The third and final book in the Frenched series brings us the story of Erin – the third in the trio of best friends that make up this series. And just like the other books in this series, this story is fun, romantic, all kinds of steamy and laugh out loud funny. I had a great time reading it, and thought Erin and Charlie’s story was fantastic!

Erin’s clean, neat and ordered life is completely shaken up one night when she is robbed while she is ‘otherwise occupied’ in her shower (otherwise occupied by herself with a pair of pink fluffy handcuffs and her “secret box of sexy”). She is even more shaken when the Police Officer who turns up to investigate is none other than Charlie Dwyer – the man who, as a child, lived next door to her and tormented her daily until he moved away just before high school. Charlie is now all grown up and hotter than all hell. He’s gorgeous, and has a smug arrogance about him that has Erin thinking about him in all sorts of inappropriate ways.

I did want him. Sexually, I wanted him six days to Sunday. Sixty-nine days to Sunday, in fact, and I wasn’t even a sixty-nine kind of girl.
Confession: I was, of course I was. I’d just never acted like it in real life.
But I’d do it with Charlie. In a heartbeat. And were there other numbers? I’d do those too.

Charlie keeps showing up when Erin least expects it and the flirty banter and innuendo flies until their mad attraction to each other leads to mind-blowing sex.

“Everything ok?” Charlie’s voice came from behind me.
“I already said it was.”
“I know, but you’re standing there holding onto that barre for dear life. I know I’m good, but I don’t think I’ve ever paralyzed a woman before.”

Charlie is keen on a bit of kink, is a dirty talker, and he completely rocks Erin’s world. But he is a part of the ever-popular “I don’t do relationships” club, and so they agree to just one night… which is followed by another night… and another night as they discover that they can’t keep away from each other. And with each encounter Erin starts dreaming of a possible future with Charlie while he maintains his distance. But a friendship develops which is full of even more flirty banter and innuendo, but this time with snuggling and romantic non-dates. It’s clear that Erin is falling harder and harder for Charlie, and while it looks like he’s falling just as hard for her, there is something holding them both back from going all in, and then there’s that secret that he’s keeping…

This book is great fun. Erin and Charlie are fantastic characters, and I loved every minute of their time together. The development of their relationship is realistic, and even though there is a bit of push and pull, it’s written really well and both characters handle it beautifully so it never becomes annoying or monotonous. Instead we feel each delicious little moment, and Erin’s narration of the story makes the whole thing totally hilarious.

“I’m really happy to be out with you. I always have fun when we’re together.”
“Me too.”
We should fuck.

But there is a lot of heart as well, and I could feel both Erin and Charlie’s struggle as they came to realise what they wanted, and fought for it. And it’s all worth it when things take a beautifully swoony and romantic turn… and still totally freaking hot! Charlie had me melting!

“It’s the strangest feeling – to love someone this way.” He slid both hands down the sides of my ribs to the small of my back. “I want to protect you. Cherish you. Worship you.” He gripped my ass hard, pulled me tight to him and spoke right in my ear. “But then I want to fuck you so hard it hurts. Take your body. Claim it. Make it mine.”

Erin’s BFFs Mia and Coco are both a part of the story (as are their men, Lucas and Nick *swoon*!), and I love that we got to see progression for their stories. This book is part of a series, and while technically it could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the series in order. These books are all funny, romantic, sexy, and entertaining as hell, and I have loved each one of them. This is definitely the end though, with an epilogue included at the end that finishes off each couple’s story beautifully

I loved this book! I was completely hooked from the first page, and struggled to put it down. I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing what Melanie Harlow has in store for us in the future.

4 stars.
