4 sweet, sexy, swoony stars

I really enjoyed this book! Like its predecessors, it’s sweet, sexy and swoony with a gorgeous alpha hero and an easy, mostly drama-free love story with lots of time spent with our couple happy and in love… and did I mention the sex? Hot! And all with some laugh out loud moments and lots of heart. I loved it.

This is the first book in the Until Him series, but I would strongly recommend reading Until July (book 1 in the Until Her series) and if possible, Until Lilly (book 3 in the Until series) before diving into this one. All of the books are very closely related, and with the events at the end of Until July leading directly into the beginning of this one, I think you’d be really lost without that background – admittedly, I had forgotten some of that detail and was a bit lost myself until I remembered everything that had gone down.

Jax is the son of Cash and Lilly from Until Lilly, and he is now all grown up and a bit of a badass. He meets Ellie when he pulls her out of a horrific situation, and immediately recognises her as his ‘boom’ – the one meant for him. When he learns that she has a daughter, he jumps into protective mode, determined to do what he can to help the two girls, and make them a part of his life.

Ellie has had a difficult and tragic life but she has worked hard to make the best of it, and when she finds herself in trouble and big, handsome Jax Mayson offers her and her daughter a fresh start, she bravely reaches for it. So, he bundles them up and brings them to his home in Nashville, getting Ellie set up with a job and introducing her and her adorable daughter, Hope, to his welcoming and supportive extended family.

It’s no surprise where the story is going to go. The books in this series are predictable and easy reads, but comfortingly so. You know what you’re going to get, and you just kick back and soak it all in.

Ellie has been through a lot in her life, and she’s not in a position where she wants to be starting a relationship but she can’t deny her feelings for Jax, and with him doing everything he can to make her feel safe, secure, and very much wanted, who can blame the girl for caving to his swoony, alpha ways?

“I have no idea how it’s possible to find someone who was made just for me, but you are. You were made for me. You’re everything I never knew I wanted. You were meant to be mine!”

I really enjoyed Jax and Ellie together. Though there is the insta-love element there, their coming together isn’t instantaneous and there are some things that they need to work through, and though things progress fast, it’s realistic and sweet with heartfelt emotion and a whole lot of chemistry.

“Feel this? This only happens for you. No one else, baby, and that’s the fucking truth.
You have unknowingly ruined me for all other women.”

And little Hope brings so much to the story! The way she wrapped Jax around her little finger was adorable to see, and the way he opened his heart to her was enough to make your ovaries quiver.

“How the hell are you supposed to survive, when the part of you that you need to live is walking around outside your body?”

Jax is protective and possessive and absolutely smitten with his girls, and he’s completely open about sharing that fact, and it’s a total swoonfest.

“The first time I saw you, my world stopped,” he says, catching me off guard, and my gaze goes to his. “Nothing else existed but you, and then it stopped again when I held Hope for the first time. And since that moment, there have been a million pauses, each one giving me something beautiful to remember.”

This book is sweet, sexy and romantic with lots of funny moments and a nice amount of emotion. I loved Jax and Ellie together, and with little Hope they made a beautiful family – and I love the epilogue that gave us glimpses of them years into the future. Gorgeous!

There’s also a lot of setting up for future books in this one, with a bit more lead in to June and Evan’s book, and Sasha and Ashlyn also having set ups to their books. There are some great dynamics already at work, and I’m really looking forward to diving into more.

I loved it – 4 stars.
