“My dream boy. My childhood crush. My first love. My only love. And now my pretend husband. “

4 sweet, sexy and romantic stars

This is such a great read! Light-hearted, fun, super sexy and beautifully romantic, it was just what I was in the mood for!

Olive grew up in love with her brother’s best friend, Jason. He practically lived at their house during his teen years, and her little-girl infatuation grew into full-blown, all-encompassing love as a teenager, until Jason broke her heart. His family then moved away and they all lost contact.

Years later and Olive is about to graduate College and has just published her first book – a book that is so wildly popular that it has been optioned for a film, and the lead actor cast to play her book’s hero is none other than now-famous movie star, Jason Thorne.

Jason is stunned to run into Olive, the girl he always called his “little one”, and though she tries to keep him at arms’ length, he is thrilled to have her back in his life and they become friends. But there is ‘something’ there between them… an electric chemistry that sizzles whenever they are together. And when the paparazzi takes notice, Jason’s publicist and agent jump on that chemistry to help turn around his well-deserved reputation as a manwhore, proposing a marriage between them to clean up his image. Olive is more than happy to help Jason out, and seeing it as an opportunity to spend time with the love of her life, she agrees to the marriage.

It’s a fun set up and very predictable, but I really enjoyed this read. Olive and Jason are both wonderful characters and the chemistry between them is fantastic! And with the story told in dual POV we get up close and personal with both of them as they fall for each other, and it’s SO beautiful! Easy, natural and drama free, I love this relationship! Their friendship is easily recaptured, and the chemistry between them is there from the very beginning. And when they both recognise their epic sexual tension and start to realise that true feelings are becoming involved, they don’t fight it. They go with it, holding nothing back from each other, and hot damn, the sexy time is SO freaking hot! Intense, passionate, and just a little bit dirty, these two are on fire together! But it’s very clear that their connection is just as much emotional and physical, and I loved watching things change between them as their fake relationship becomes very real.

Do you know what happens after you start acting like you’re in love with a girl? Or, hell, forget about being in love, do you know what happens when you act like you’re dating each other? Falling for each other? No? Let me tell you what happens: you start to get lost in your own fucking game.

The writing is engaging, and the story is perfectly paced, giving us a fantastic build-up and then lots of time with Jason and Olive together as a couple, and though there’s a bit of drama (of course), it’s nothing too outlandish or angsty, and it’s handled well and resolved quickly. And the romance is gorgeous! You can see it happening all throughout the story even though they may be oblivious to it, but once the big realization is made, it’s all beautifully swoony.

“My world is a less scary place with you in it, baby. I will kiss you a thousand times every day if that’s what it takes to keep you in love with me for the rest of our days.”

I really enjoyed this book. It’s sweet and fun with a wonderfully heart-felt and sexy romance. I can’t wait to get my hands on more of this author’s work – starting with Lucy’s standalone story, To Hate Adam Connor (yay!).

I loved it – 4 stars.
