God I love these books! It’s only the third in the series, but I know exactly what I’m going to get – and it’s PURE AWESOME! The settings and characters are all so familiar, I feel like I’m sitting in Fortnums and watching it all happen in front of me. The Rock Chicks and Hot Guys (probably stupid names, I agree, but just go with it because it works) are brilliant – quirky and absolutely hilarious… and let’s not forget hotter than all hell! As our heroine says:<\/p>\n

It looked like GQ was having a convention and all the best looking guys had decided to have a coffee at Fortnum’s before going to seminars on how to cope with being really, unbelivably, fucking gorgeous<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

and then…<\/p>\n

It was like Fortnums was For Gorgeous People Only. They needed a sign so normal people wouldn’t wander in unwittingly and develop immediate inferiority complexes<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So this book was about Hank (yet another smoking-hot-Alpha, swoony member of the Hot Guy Bunch) and Roxie. Of all of the RC girls, Roxie is my favourite to date. She is a lot more ‘real’ than some of the other characters, and wasn’t so prone to run off and get herself into stupid situations. Still she’s funny, stubborn and more than a match for Hank. These two seem to be a lot more settled together than Eddie and Jet from book 2, and of course together they are still steamy, with a fair bit of swooniness – I swear I cracked a smile every time Hank called her “Sunshine”. And of course there is Hank’s amazing ‘Alpha-ness’:<\/p>\n

“I’m protecting what’s mine.”
\n…
\n“I’m not yours,” I said.
\n“You’re welcome to think that but it doesn’t change the fact that you are.”<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But wait… there’s more…<\/p>\n

“They say, if you care about something, you have to set it free and if it comes back to you, it was meant to be.”
\n“They’re full of shit.”
\nObviously, I failed spectacularly at being philosophical.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yeah… love me a bit of Alpha!!!<\/p>\n

The adventure was also still there in this book with a kidnapping, a bit of stalking, a haunted Halloween adventure and of course the big finale which was so well written, I could picture the whole thing in my head.<\/p>\n

We also got introduced to a few new characters in this one – Luke, the mysterious up-to-now missing member of the Nightingale Boys (looking forward to his book!), Annette (Roxie’s crazy hippy friend) and of course there’s Roxie’s family. They had me laughing in every scene they were in! Particularly her no-nonsense, say-it-like-it-is father:<\/p>\n

“She can’t wear that dress! It’s indecent. Her ass is hangin’ out.”
\n…
\n“Son, take my advice, you gotta get this girl in hand. You can’t let her run around with her ass hangin’ out. You allow it once, she’ll do it again. Trust me, I know.”<\/i><\/p>\n

“Son, let me tell you something. Even if you don’t care, pretend you do. Honestly, it’s the best way to go,” Dad, the voice of experience, decided to wade in. “She talks about toss pillows. You don’t care about toss pillows. You don’t even know what toss pillows are. Pretend that toss pillows are your highest priority in life.” <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Another great, fun, read from the incredible Ms Ashley. I look forward to the next book.<\/p>\n
