3.5 sweet and simple stars<\/b><\/p>\n

This book was so freaking sweet! And as much as I love an easy, effortless romance, this book just goes to prove what a fickle reader I am. I hate unnecessary drama, and random stupidity by a character will absolutely kill a book for me. This book has none of that. Absolutely nothing. It\u2019s sweet and swoony and easy, with no drama, no problems, no issues. And I\u2019ve gotta say, I was kinda bored :\\ I\u2019m a huge fan of Kristen Proby. I love her formula, I love her characters, I love that I can pick up one of her books and know I\u2019m going to get a thoroughly enjoyable, sexy romance with little to no angst, and I was so looking forward to reading this book but for some reason it just didn\u2019t have the \u2018oomph\u2019 that I needed. I definitely enjoyed it, I just didn\u2019t love it as much as I was hoping.<\/p>\n

The set up for this book began in Listen to Me<\/a>, book #1 of the Fusion<\/em> series. Cami LaRue is one of five best friends who own and run a highly successful restaurant (Cami is the financial whiz of the group). She has been in love with her lifelong best friend\u2019s older brother, Landon for as long as she can remember. And as if the best friend\u2019s brother trope isn\u2019t enough, Cami and Landon were also the best of friends, making this a friends-to-lovers romance as well. Beautiful!<\/p>\n

Landon is a navy pilot and in the last book he was injured when forced to eject from his plane. This book finds him home and recuperated but grounded for life. He is understandably devastated, but when Cami comes knocking on his door to welcome him home and see if he\u2019s ok he decides to make the best of his being at home by re-establishing the somewhat lost connection he had with his old friend. And it\u2019s not too long before he finally gains the courage to finally make a move on the girl he fell for when he was way too young for him.<\/p>\n

Landon has always wanted Cami, and now that they\u2019re finally in the same place, single and of age, it\u2019s time to act on those feelings. Landon is wonderfully sweet and romantic. He is open and honest, thoughtful, gentle and affectionate, and he brings the sexy as well. Honestly, this is the man you would want to marry. He never puts a foot wrong \u2013 there for Cami when she needs him with a foot rub, ice cream or a flick chick, and he even respectfully makes himself scarce when she has girl time. He\u2019s an absolute gem. And the swoon! OMG the swoon is sensational! Of course Landon is all about expressing his feelings, and the romantic declarations are gorgeous.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve watched you from a distance for years, caring for you, worrying about you, thinking of you\u2026 I\u2019ve felt pulled to you my entire life\u2026 I couldn\u2019t explain it, and I couldn\u2019t wish it away even when I tried. You\u2019ve never left me. I\u2019ve carried you with me always.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And it\u2019s not just him! Cami sees her shot with Landon for what it is \u2013 her chance at the man she has always loved and the happy ending she has always wanted, and she\u2019s not about to do anything to screw it up. She follows her heart and throws herself right into their relationship. And even when there is drama, it\u2019s all handled quickly, with messing about or stupid behaviour. Their relationship is effortless, their love is beautiful, and their story is sweet as pie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get lost in you,\u201d I whisper, wishing I could see her face, but not wanting to move her.
\n\u201cMm,\u201d she says. \u201cBut it\u2019s the kind of lost that\u2019s like being found.\u201d
\nI blink, processing her words, and know, in this moment, that there will never be anyone else for me.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is the perfect book to read if you\u2019re stressed out and want a drama, angst, problem-free read that will leave you with a smile on your face. I really liked the characters and I enjoyed their romance, I just would have liked a little bit \u2018more\u2019. More of what, I have no idea. Just\u2026 more.<\/p>\n

I still enjoyed it though, and looking forward to Kat\u2019s book coming up next.<\/p>\n
