Though he had been straight all his life, there was something about Logan that intrigued him, and when the sexy lawyer made it clear that he wanted him, a mix of curiosity, intrigue and surprising lust saw Tate exploring some super-hot sexy time with the irresistible man.

Logan knew he wanted Tate from the moment he laid eyes on him. He never expected feelings to develop, or for Tate to be the man that would finally have Logan wanting more, but he found himself falling and the two men discovered that there was so much more to what they had together than just mind-blowing sex.

“You might have done the chasing in the beginning, but Logan…”
“Yeah?”
“I’ve never been happier than when you caught me.”

While the first book was all about the sexual tension and excitement that comes from meeting somebody new and the anticipation of all of those delicious (and scary) possibilities, this book further explores Logan and Tate’s relationship as they take the next step into official ‘coupledom’. They are both still coming to terms with this new and unexpected dynamic and the feelings that they have for each other that continue to grow deeper. And of course, the biggest drama they have to face is Tate still dealing with his nightmare of an ex, and his coming out to his family. All of this while still exploring everything that is happening between them, lost in the haze of lust turning into something more.

“You make me crazy and furious and out of my mind with need, but in the end, you make me so fucking happy. I can’t ever remember feeling this way. And no one is going to tell me it’s wrong. No one.”

I love Logan and Tate together! Yes, there is lust and attraction and blossoming love, but I love that at the bottom of it all they are two strong, smart and sexy men who laugh and joke together, and genuinely have a good time together. Their mad lust for each other and their growing feelings just build on that.

And let’s talk for a moment about the sex, because holy crap, there’s a lot of it! Logan and Tate are insatiable for each other and the sexy time is hot, dirty and really explicit. It’s an important part of their relationship – particularly for Tate as he continues to push his previous boundaries and explore this new intimacy with Logan. But the physical side of their relationship now has an added emotional aspect to it which makes each of their encounters even more passionate and intense, and dayum!

“What are you trying to do, kill me?”
Tate shook his head. “No. I’m making you mine.”
“Don’t you know? I’m already yours.”

But while the sex was definitely plentiful, this book is more about the growing connection between Logan and Tate, and I enjoyed the evolution of their relationship. It’s all still so new for both of them, and there are uncertainties and insecurities on both sides, and this book delves into that in great detail as we see Logan struggling with pain from the past and trust issues from a relationship gone horribly wrong, and Tate facing heartbreaking difficulties that come with them being together. They both have soul-searching to do as they work to figure out exactly what it is they want from each other and face up to the risks that go along with that. There’s a lot of emotional development for both Logan and Tate in this book, and I loved watching them take it all in stride and follow their hearts.

“I’m done pretending I don’t understand what’s going on here. It’s crazy and intense, but Logan, it’s real. Every time I’m near you, I feel alive.” He closed his eyes and whispered, “What they did and what they said…that’s their choice, and you are mine.”

I enjoyed this book. It didn’t pack the punch for me that the first one did, but I liked the added emotional intensity, and I’m looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here.

3.5
