Wow, I love this book! It\u2019s smart, it\u2019s funny, the romance is fantastic with wicked banter and sizzling UST, there\u2019s even a mystery and I loved the unique twist.<\/p>\n

Jay Fields is an illusionist. He has mad skills of observation, persuasion, and trickery, he is intriguing and mysterious, and he absolutely stole my heart! Matilda works as a Secretary in her father\u2019s law firm, and when Jay Fields shows up looking for a lawyer, she has no idea that he\u2019s about to turn all of their lives upside down.<\/p>\n

From the moment Jay and Matilda see each other, sparks fly, and as they continue to spend time together, the chemistry between them seriously sizzles. They develop a fantastic friendship, with deliciously smutty undertones as they tease and banter constantly.<\/p>\n

\u201cWow. You\u2019re good,\u201d I breathe. \u201cI know you took it \u2013 I just can\u2019t figure out when or how.\u201d
\nHis smile grows wider as he chews on his food. Then his voice deepens as he replies, \u201cYou don\u2019t know the half of how good I am.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The sexual tension builds brilliantly as Jay insinuates himself into Matilda\u2019s life, getting to know her and supporting and encouraging her to live large, all the while flirting madly as she continuously wonders what his intentions are while falling harder and harder for him, with no idea what to do about it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s times like these that I wished I owned a vibrator. Christ, I feel like I didn\u2019t even own a libido until Jay came into my life. Now my mind is just a churning bucket of frustration and sexual thoughts.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I love Matilda. She\u2019s 23, but she\u2019s somewhat na\u00efve and inexperienced \u2013 especially when it comes to men. So while every little interaction between her and Jay had me tingling with anticipation and I sat there screaming at her for being so oblivious as to his overt flirting, I wasn\u2019t necessarily frustrated. She\u2019s sweet and innocent, and it\u2019s endearing. Jay knows this, he loves it and his teasing is both highly entertaining and sexy as all hell.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a smile in his voice when he goes on, \u201cWhat are you doing in there, baby?\u201d
\n\u201cNothing,\u201d I answer, a little too quickly.
\n\u201cOkay, you keep on doing nothing. I\u2019ll just sit here while you\u2019re at it. This spot is surprisingly comfortable.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I was squeeing at every little comment, every little glance and touch. The build-up is delicious, and so totally worth it for the resulting hotness.<\/p>\n

\u201cChrist, I need you,\u201d he swears. \u201cIf you don\u2019t stop me now, I\u2019m going to fuck you, darlin\u2019.\u201d
\nHe licks a line from my neck to my earlobe, taking it into his mouth and sucking, his tongue flickering.
\n\u201cJay,\u201d I moan his name, and an appreciative groan rumbles up out of his chest. \u201cYes. Please.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jay is so freaking smooth! He is charming and witty and hotter than all hell, but you can tell there is a deeper side to him. His life has been hard and he is hell bent on retribution, and is keeping secrets which put a barrier between anything serious progressing between him and Matilda, but things develop anyway, and it is both incredibly sexy and beautifully tender. There is no denying the intense feelings between them and the incredible intimacy that they share.<\/p>\n

\u201cFuck.\u201d He stares at me for a long time. \u201cYou\u2019re the most beautiful thing I\u2019ve ever seen.\u00a0<\/em>This\u00a0is the most beautiful thing I\u2019ve ever felt.\u201d
\nAnd those are the most beautiful words that have ever been said to me.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got me, Matilda. You always have.\u201d He pauses, and his voice lowers. \u201cYou\u2019re mine.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The whole plot of the story is very clever. It\u2019s most definitely primarily a romance, but Jay’s secrets form the basis of the whole book with the rest of the story revolving around that, and the way that the mystery is woven through the romance and the court case that brought them together in the first place is fantastic! From the prologue, we know some of what is going on, and I loved watching it all unfold! It\u2019s one of those situations where you don\u2019t appreciate the intricacy of it all until it\u2019s over, with each little reveal showing just how cleverly it\u2019s all been put together.<\/p>\n

This was my first book my LH Cosway, and I\u2019m impressed. Her writing is smooth and easy to read, and sucks you right into the story. Jay and Matilda are fantastic characters, and there is a great cast of side characters which complement them brilliantly. I laughed so many times while reading, and the humour blends effortlessly with the romance and the mystery to make this book a unique and special read. I\u2019m definitely looking forward to exploring more of her work.<\/p>\n

I loved it. 4.5 stars.<\/p>\n
