Preppy is back, baby! \u2026. Again!\u00a0 The badass, unapologetic, smart-ass anti-hero that we cannot help but love is back for round 2, and OMG it was worth the wait!<\/p>\n

* Please be warned that this review will be spoilery if you haven\u2019t read the King series up to this point. *<\/p>\n

Ever since I finished Preppy: Part One, I have been desperate for this book! TM Frazier is nasty with the cliffies, and that last one was pretty horrific. But this book picks up immediately where the last one left off, and I was instantly thrown back into the chaotic world of these characters that I love so much.<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t going to be some sort of warm and fuzzy reunion.
\nNo, it was a fucking relapse. <\/i><\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Our beloved Preppy has been through hell. He is finally back where he belongs, but all that he has been through has changed him. He is struggling to adjust back to his normal, and as much as he tries to be himself, he feels like a stranger in his own life. His turmoil is heartbreaking, and I love how much emotion Frazier was able to put into this story. But it\u2019s written in a way that is all Preppy \u2013 rude, crude and irreverent, and it gets us right into his head.<\/p>\n

There we stood, in the middle of the living room, hugging it out, each trying to hold back our tears until our need to cry outweighed our need to be the manly fucking men we were and we were no longer able to hold in the tears.
\n\u201cI\u2019m not fucking crying,\u201d Bear sobbed.
\n\u201cMe either, you fucking pussy,\u201d I sobbed back as my old friend held me tighter and we hugged and punched each other hard on the backs until I was sure we were going to give each other bruises, and if it went on much longer, probably some broken ribs. When he finally let go of me we quickly wiped our eyes and noses on our t-shirts, because real men don\u2019t fucking cry.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dre is also back, and the story is written in dual POV so we get to see exactly what these two have been, and are still, going through, and I couldn\u2019t put this book down!<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s one of the reasons I\u2019m here. In town. For closure. I\u2019ve made so many mistakes. So freaking many.\u201d
\n\u201cDid you find it?\u201d Preppy asked. \u201cYour closure?\u201d
\nI looked over to the dark corner and felt his eyes on me when I whispered, \u201cNot even close.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I loved the second-chance-romance aspect of the story as Prep and Dre find their way back to each other. As I have come to expect, it\u2019s hot, dirty, and incredibly intense, but it\u2019s also very emotional as secrets from the past are revealed, and they fully open up to each other. I loved their love story \u2013 it\u2019s beautifully written, but in a way that is still true to the characters, giving this book a lot of heart.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have nightmares all the time. You know what\u2019s the only thing that makes them go away?\u201d He placed his hand over mine. \u201cYou. You silence the world when it\u2019s too fucking loud. You make me feel less broken.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cHey Doc?\u201d he asked, searching my eyes. His laugh quieted and his smile fell.<\/em>
\n My stomach flipped. \u201cYeah?\u201d<\/em>
\n \u201cThis time\u2026I\u2019m gonna keep you.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But more than just a love story, this is Preppy\u2019s journey, and as always, I cannot get enough of him as a character. And I love how his \u2018family\u2019 were all there for him, in particular Dre with her newfound strength and absolute commitment to him \u2013 I love her!<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t give two fucks what happens to me. I don\u2019t even know who I am to care about so how the fuck am I supposed to take care of you?\u201d
\n\u201cSamuel Clearwater, I might have needed you to take care of me once and you did. You saved my life. But I\u2019m not that girl anymore. I can take care of myself. I can save myself if I need saving and if you need me to then I can save you too.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And as always, I loved the dynamic between the boys. King, Bear and Prep have been through everything together, and have stood by each other\u2019s side through all of it. And seeing them in this next stage of their lives was truly something special.<\/p>\n

This was a surprisingly quick read, and my only complaint is that I wish it had been longer. There is so much that happens in this book, and I wanted to see more of it. I wanted more detail, more answers, and I feel like I missed out on some of the feels that I was sure were coming my way. But I still loved it. I love the characters, the twists, the surprises, and the way it all plays out.<\/p>\n

It ends on yet ANOTHER hideous cliffy, but I\u2019m so happy with where the characters are at, and I cannot wait to get my hands on book #3.<\/p>\n

Fantastic, I loved it \u2013 4 stars.<\/p>\n
