4.5 hilariously smart romantic stars<\/b><\/p>\n

I loved this book! It\u2019s funny, clever, quirky and so much fun!<\/p>\n

Janie is having the worst day of her life. She has lost her boyfriend, her apartment and her job and then, after experiencing a breakdown in the ladies room, she gets escorted out of the building by \u201cSir Handsome McHotpants<\/i>\u201d, the hot security guard that she has been ogling for weeks.<\/p>\n

When she unintentionally runs into \u201cSir<\/i>\u201d (aka Quinn) again, he helps her out of a nasty situation and they start to develop a bit of a friendship. She has no idea what Quinn sees in her because she\u2019s all kinds of awkward and spouts off random trivia whenever she gets nervous, which is all the time around him.<\/p>\n

He was standing too close I couldn\u2019t think with my brain when my body wanted to climb him like a tree.<\/i><\/p>\n

The more stressful my situation is, the less I think about it, or anything related to it. At present, I thought about how the elevators were like mechanical horses, and I wondered if anyone loved them or named them.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When Quinn hooks her up with an interview for a new job they end up spending even more time together, and their friendship takes a turn when Quinn, in that smoothly calming way of his, makes it clear that he wants more than friendship from her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to touch you and kiss you, frequently, and I want you–\u201d he shifted on his feet as though steadying himself then his hand reached out; he stepped closer and he cupped my cheek in his palm, \u201cI want you to touch me.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I loved the development of this relationship! The romance builds beautifully, and Janie\u2019s hilarious inner monologue keeps the story from getting angsty. She doesn\u2019t get whiney or annoying, she is very matter of fact about her situation and I loved watching her get swept up in all that is Quinn. She\u2019s never been so attracted to anybody in her life and isn\u2019t quite sure how to deal with it, and it was so funny watching it all unfold.<\/p>\n

My head said no and my vagina said yes and my heart said\u00a0<\/i>I DON\u2019T KNOW!! I\u2019M EMOTIONALLY INHIBTED! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Janie is a fabulous and unique heroine, and I loved her instantly. She\u2019s highly intelligent and has no delusions about her awkwardness or nerdy weirdness, and I love that she doesn\u2019t hide it. She accepts who she is, and she\u2019s honest about her feelings and her expectations, and it just makes her all the more endearing.<\/p>\n

And Quinn is all kinds of awesome. He\u2019s very alpha and mysterious but he appreciates Janie\u2019s quirkiness, and the way he pursues her is gorgeous! The head tilts, the little half smiles, you can see him falling harder and harder for her as he pushes her to make a go of things between them.<\/p>\n

I returned his smile although I felt suddenly sober, my eyes inexplicably watery, \u201cQuin\u2026\u201d I took a deep, steadying breath. \u201cQuinn, you need to be a good guy. I\u00a0<\/i>need\u00a0you to be a good guy.\u201d
\nHe nodded, his expression reacting to and echoing my sudden seriousness, \u201cI know. I want to.\u201d Quinn licked his lips as his eyes moved to my mouth. \u201cI will.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I love this book! It\u2019s so freaking funny and I laughed out loud so many times while reading. Between Janie\u2019s outbursts, the made up lingo (wendells and slamps) and the banter between the girls in Janie\u2019s knitting group, there are so many funny moments. There are a few hiccups along the way as Janie figures out her feelings and defines her relationship with Quinn and some (not so surprising) twists, but it all unfolds beautifully, and I honestly loved every minute it.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m so excited to continue on with this series, and am happy that Janie and Quinn have another book up next \u2013 I need more!!!<\/p>\n

I loved it \u2013 4.5 stars.<\/p>\n

P.S. I listened to this as an audiobook, and highly recommend it. The narration was fantastic!<\/p>\n
