Finally! The long-awaited finale to Vlad and Leila\u2019s story! This was a thrilling ride from start to finish with lots of action, excitement, paranormal badassery and romance, and was a fantastic finish to the Night Prince series. I loved it!<\/p>\n

The book begins where the last one left off, with Leila magically linked to powerful, evil necromancer, Mircea. Whatever happens to one happens to the other, and when Mircea is captured and tortured as a way of hurting Leila, Vlad is expected to do the unthinkable in order to save the love of his life. To break the connection, Vlad and Leila need to find a spell \u2013 but magic is forbidden to vampires. They will need to find someone to guide them through the magical underworld to get answers, and their explorations will reveal secrets and dangers that they were never expecting.<\/p>\n

I loved this book. It\u2019s action-packed and heavy on the paranormal power displays, which I loved! Set in the Night Huntress World, there are lots of tie-ins to the previous series, with cameos from Mencheres and Ian (Ian!!!), as well as characters that we\u2019ve met in previous books of this series, and some new faces. There\u2019s a great blend of supernatural beings, and I loved the magical aspects that were brought into the story. Vlad is fantastic, and as much as I love seeing him as a man in love, it\u2019s his ruthless, unapologetic badassery that makes these books so fantastic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can fight about it until Branson hears us, or we can get him together quietly,\u201d I went on, narrowing my eyes. \u201cYour choice.\u201d
\nThe high-arched portico covering the fortress’s main entrance suddenly exploded, jetting out fire and pieces of stone. I ducked from instinct, but Vlad walked right toward the burning chaos, the fire parting to let him pass.
\n\u201cDoes that answer your question?\u201d he asked.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But if there\u2019s anybody that can upstage Vlad, it\u2019s Ian, and OMG he was a most welcome and highly entertaining addition to this book. His hilarious nonchalance and sluttiness has always been a highlight of the Night Huntress series for me, and I loved that we got to see so much of him in this book.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you think this is impressive, I know a fellow whose wife can shapeshift into an ancient dragon. I ache with envy at the thought of shagging one of those.\u201d
\nMy jaw dropped. \u201cYou’d seriously bang a dragon?\u201d
\n\u201cOh, for days,\u201d he responded at once. \u201cCan you imagine the Internet videos? I’d be a bloody <\/i>legend.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

His antics and banter with Vlad were so freaking funny and had me laughing out loud, but I really enjoyed getting to see his deeper, more personal side, which inspires a fantastic twist to his story. I am beyond excited for the potential there for him and am thrilled that this book serves as the pre-cursor to his very own series, The Night Rebel (with a glimpse at his future love interest). Bring it on!<\/p>\n

But this is Vlad and Leila\u2019s story and I loved seeing them standing together and fighting for the future that they so badly want together. Their love for each other is gorgeous to see, and their passion for each other is only growing stronger, but it\u2019s the way they protect, defend and support each other that is their strength, and that is shown over and over again, and I loved it!<\/p>\n

\u201cI told you before; I know you’re the dragon instead of the knight. And I don’t care. At your best or at your worst, I will always love you, Vlad.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There\u2019s a lot that happens in this book, and it finishes off Vlad and Leila\u2019s story beautifully. There is magic, action, chaos and destruction, and as the story twists and turns, allegiances will be tested in the most surprising of ways and not everybody will make it out alive. I was hooked from start to finish and I had so much fun watching it all play out.<\/p>\n

I loved it \u2013 4 stars.<\/p>\n
