I sighed audibly. \u00a0<\/span>Are we even moving?<\/span><\/i> \u00a0It was seriously the slowest elevator I\u2019d ever taken. \u00a0Frustrated, and maybe a bit anxious to get the interview over with, I took another shot at the elevator panel. \u00a0Again, pressing the button repeatedly, I groaned, \u201cCome on. \u00a0I\u2019m already freakin\u2019 late.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I breathed a sigh of relief when the car seemed to finally pick up speed. \u00a0But then, it jolted to an abrupt stop, and the elevator went pitch black.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell now you\u2019ve gone and broken the damn thing,\u201d a deep voice said from behind me. \u00a0Startled, I jumped and bobbled my cell phone in the dark, which resulted in it falling. \u00a0From the sound of it smashing against the floor, I knew it had broken. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShit! \u00a0Look what you made me do.\u201d I bent over and patted the floor, but I couldn\u2019t find it. \u00a0\u201cCan you at least give me some light so I can find my phone?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be my pleasure.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d I huffed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf I had a cell phone on me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAre you kidding? \u00a0You don\u2019t have a cell phone on you? \u00a0Who walks around without their cell phone?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe you should try it. If you weren\u2019t so obsessed with yours, we wouldn\u2019t be in this predicament.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I stood, and my hands went to my hips. \u201cHow so?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, you were so busy typing away on your phone, you didn\u2019t even notice another passenger was in the car with you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHad you seen me, you wouldn\u2019t have jumped hearing my voice and broken your phone. \u00a0Then we would have had light, and you would be able to see that elevator panel well enough to push that button another twenty or thirty times. I\u2019m sure that would\u2019ve helped.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I felt the man moving around behind me. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

When he answered, his voice came from a different place. \u00a0It was to my left and beneath me. \u00a0\u201cI\u2019m on the floor looking for your cell phone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It really was pitch dark. \u00a0I couldn\u2019t see a thing, but I felt the air move, and I knew he must have stood back up. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPut your hand out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re going to put my phone in it, right?\u201d \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I\u2019ve taken down my pants and I\u2019m going to stick my dick in it. \u00a0Christ, you\u2019re really a bitch, aren\u2019t you?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Thinking he couldn\u2019t see me, I smiled at his sarcasm and put out my hand. \u00a0\u201cJust give me my phone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

MEET DEX<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Wow. My little ball player was quite the fox. <\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019d only seen her from the back before the lights went out. Now, I was staring into her beautiful, big brown eyes, feeling like this elevator mishap wasn\u2019t such a bad thing after all.<\/span><\/p>\n

She cleared her throat. \u201cThe lights came back, but we\u2019re still stuck.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I clicked on some of the buttons. \u201cSeems that way. But this is a step in the right direction. I bet this thing will be moving in no time.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

And by this thing moving, I do not mean my dick, although I could have sworn I felt it twitch when she just licked her beautiful full lips.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Do that again.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Fuck.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

She is beautiful.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

My eyes travelled down the length of her body then back up again, loving how the small buttons on her conservative blouse formed a path up to her delicate neck. I wouldn\u2019t have minded sucking on that skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe I could entice her to play hooky with me.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhere are you headed once we get out of here?\u201d I asked.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe thirty-fourth floor,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

What? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

What is she doing going up to my floor? <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I know she doesn\u2019t work for me. I would have remembered that face, those eyes.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat kind of business you have going on up there?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI actually have the pleasure of interviewing Mister Moneybags himself.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

My stomach sank.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ohhhh.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

This didn\u2019t bode well for me.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I swallowed then cocked my head to the side and played dumb. \u201cWho?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe elusive Dexter Truitt. He\u2019s the CEO of Montague Enterprises. They occupy the entire top floor.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Trying to seem like I was not seriously about to lose my shit, I asked, \u201cWhy do you call him Mister Moneybags?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI just picture him to be this crabby, money-hungry asshole, I guess. Sounds like a fitting name. Of course, I don\u2019t actually know him.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n
