Love Hacked<\/i> by Penny Reid is another unique and hilarious story in the Knitting in the City<\/i><\/a> series. The quirky characters will draw you into the story and make you fall in love. It is fantastic and one of my favorite books in the series so far.<\/p>\n

We are back with the Tuesday Night Knit group and this is Sandra\u2019s story. She is a psychiatrist who has had back luck with dating. She hasn’t been kissed in two years because of all of her\u00a0first date fails. She is so easy to talk to that her dates always turn into a therapy session that ends with the man crying and a new friendship formed. No sparks can fly when she can\u2019t turn the psychology part her brain off. She has taken all her first dates to the same restaurant for the past two years and she can\u2019t help but notice the waiter who takes care of her table whenever she comes in.<\/p>\n

Alex is the \u201cdangerous but delicious young waiter with a chip on his shoulder\u201d<\/i> and unlike anyone she\u2019s wanted before. She usually goes after normal safe men, not bad boys with baggage. Sandra is used to reading people but Alex is unreadable.\u00a0He makes it clear he wants her but could she enter a causal relationship with him when she isn\u2019t the casual type?<\/p>\n

I was going to be smart about the next guy.
\nI wanted to fall into stupid love. I wanted to give myself without fear\u2026
\nWas it possible to do this, do <\/i>him, without risking my feelings?<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I loved this book! The story is so different than the others in the series but it\u2019s no less awesome. As always, Penny Reid has created wonderfully complex characters that I loved from the beginning. Sandra was a hoot when we were introduced to her in the first book, Neanderthal Seeks Human,<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>with her\u00a0fun and quirky\u00a0personality. I absolutely loved all of Sandra\u2019s custom T-shirts for literally every occasion imaginable. She can always put a smile on your face and makes you wish she was a friend in real life. I understood her frustration with the way her dates go and I loved that Alex was the someone special to turn it all around. It was hilarious that he could leave her speechless for the first time in her life when she usually has no problem saying whatever is on her mind.<\/p>\n

Alex is such a unique character and I couldn’t help but fall for him. He is different, confusing, and so mysterious. He is definitely not what you would expect from a twenty-something gorgeous guy. He is super smart\u00a0and does not open up to her right away leaving us with questions upon questions. His character has so many layers with a complicated past that was well developed. This beautiful broken man with major trust issues needed to find he person who could love him for everything he is, baggage and all, and I love that Sandra was the one for him just as Alex was everything Sandra needed even when she didn’t recognize it immediately.<\/p>\n

I loved Sandra and Alex as a couple. Though so different, they somehow were perfect for each other. When they were together it was all humor, smarts, and swoon, with great\u00a0chemistry and some sexy times thrown into the mix. Though there was some drama, the trust and love\u00a0that grew between them was beautiful and as their feelings strengthened, the romance was solidified.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve shown me joy where before I saw only despair. You\u2019ve taught me hope where before I knew only hopelessness. I may be broken, but all my pieces are yours. And I\u2019ll work every day of my life to deserve you.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The epilogue was a\u00a0beautiful conclusion to the story and kept a smile on my face long after the last page was turned. Overall, this was another delightful addition to the Knitting in the City<\/i> series and I highly recommend it.<\/p>\n
