Hard to Love starts out with a trip to the ER. Cade is trying to make ends meet so that he can take care of his 6 year old sister. He works construction and is a MMA fighter but he needs more money fast, so he decides to become a porn star. After his manager gives him two little blue pills, Cade experiences a painful side effect.<\/p>\n

Dammit. I knew a four-hour erection wasn\u2019t normal.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is where Cade meets Alexa. She is a nursing student working the late shift. There is an attraction between the two of them, but after Cade is discharged, there is no reason for them to see each other again.<\/p>\n

Then it’s the night of Alexa’s 21st birthday, and the last person she expects is the run into is Cade. Alexa’s friend want her to break out of her shell and tries to convince her to lose her virginity to Cade, the porn star. Though she doesn’t take him up on the offer, she does manage to integrate herself into Cade’s life. A sweet relationship forms between Cade and Alexa when he shows her there is a whole other side to him – one that is sweet and hardworking, and would do anything for his sister, Lily. I loved Lily and the relationship between her and Cade and between her and Alexa. She was such a sweet part of the story.<\/p>\n

Even though there is a HEA, I had a few major issues with the book.

My major issue was the fact that after Cade and Alexa finally sleep together, the very next day he films a porno and doesn’t really think twice about it. That morning when they wake up in the post sex high, he casually says he has to work. She figures out that it’s his porn work and not construction and she gets understandably pissed. He totally does not understand why she would be mad. Come on! He finally sleeps with her and then he fucks an actress the very next day!!! I was not ok with that. And then when they finally get back together, I feel like she took him back too easily once he told her he loved her. I just couldn’t forgive him and his actions alone dropped my rating.<\/div><\/div>\n
