Isn&#8217;t that what they say?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>OMG, I love this book!\u00a0 It\u2019s unique, surprising, engaging from start to finish, and really gets you thinking.\u00a0 I sat down to start it today and read it the whole way through, unable to put it down.\u00a0 There\u2019s not a whole lot I can say without giving away spoilers, so I\u2019m purposely keeping this review vague.<\/p>\n<p>29 year old Hannah is struggling with her life.\u00a0 She is completely directionless and has bounced around from city to city, job to job since graduating college.\u00a0 Now, having just ended a disastrous relationship, she is on her way home to LA to try and make something of her life.<\/p>\n<p>She moves in with her best friend, Gabby, and on her second night at home they head out for drinks.\u00a0 There she runs into her high school boyfriend, Ethan.\u00a0 At the end of the night she has to decide whether to call it a night and go home with Gabby or whether to accept Ethan\u2019s invitation to stay a little longer.\u00a0 It seems like such a small decision, but even the small decisions can have life-changing repercussions.<\/p>\n<p>From this point in the book, the story splits in two, showing us how Hannah\u2019s story plays out based on her decision that night.\u00a0 In alternating chapters, two incredible stories unfold, taking Hannah\u2019s life in very different directions.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cEverything that is possible happens\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I love Hannah!\u00a0 She\u2019s such a wonderful character, flawed but real and trying hard to create a meaningful life for herself.\u00a0 In both stories Hannah\u2019s life twists and turns in ways she (and the reader) never would have expected.\u00a0 It\u2019s life \u2013 it\u2019s messy, emotional and complicated with some huge surprises, and even though it\u2019s painful and devastating at times, there is also incredible joy and great love.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI love you,\u201d he says.\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t think I ever really stopped.\u201d \u2026 \u201cI was going to tell you that tonight \u2026 Before all of this.\u201d<\/em><br \/>\n<em> \u201cAnd now?\u201d I say.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> \u2026 \u201cI still love you,\u201d he says.\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019ve always loved you.\u00a0 I might never stop.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yes, there is romance (stunningly swoony and again, realistic), but the themes of friendship and family are featured just as strongly, and it\u2019s all beautifully done.\u00a0\u00a0 Of all of the relationships in this book, Hannah\u2019s friendship with Gabby (and by extension, Gabby\u2019s parents) was probably my favourite.<\/p>\n<p>The whole thing has a bit of a &lt;i&gt;Sliding Doors&lt;\/i&gt; feel to it, and as that is one of my favourite movies, I knew I\u2019d enjoy this one before I started.\u00a0 It\u2019s done differently though, and I have to say that I love the way this book ended &#8211; it was unexpected but perfect for the story, and definitely leaves you thinking about the possibilities of your own life.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Life is long and full of an infinite number of decisions.\u00a0 I have to think that the small ones don\u2019t matter, that I\u2019ll end up where I need to end up no matter what I do.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> My fate will find me.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Beautifully written, I laughed, I cried, I felt EVERYTHING, and I devoured every moment of it.\u00a0 I absolutely loved it.<\/p>\n<p>5 stars.<\/p>\n<p><em>An Advanced Review Copy was generously provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Buy Now: Kindle Ebook\u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0Paperback Review \u201cThere is a larger plan out there.
