However, it\u2019s the love, happiness, and peace that left the biggest smile on my face.<\/p>\n Katy Regnery\u2019s wonderfully multi-dimensional characters in this story have found a place in my heart. Written in dual POVs, we get both sides of the story and I felt connected to Cassidy and Brynn immediately. Cassidy Porter was incredible. I loved him and his beautiful soul the moment I met him. He had such a gentle heart and I wept for the things he suffered. I felt gut-wrenching sadness for him because of the stigma associated with being the son of a serial killer. I understood the fear and shame, and I loved watching him experience feelings he wasn\u2019t accustomed to while still accepting who he was.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve known the devil in my lifetime. Cassidy was vulnerable and naive in so many ways yet he was strong. I felt the power he had when he took his life into his own hands, making virtuous choices with his selfless heart, and it put an ache in chest that he felt unworthy of love.<\/p>\n Brynn\u2019s grief was heartbreaking. I felt it deep down and couldn\u2019t shake it.\u00a0She was lost and alone, and I wanted to give her the push she needed to move on. I loved the scene with Hope when Brynn realized that things aren\u2019t always as they seem. \u00a0I loved that she allowed herself to feel love again even after the pain she suffered and she was determined to live again.<\/p>\n Cassidy and Brynn were wonderful together. They taught each other how to truly live again and gave each other peace that neither had felt in a long time. Their connection was palpable and their relationship, pure and perfect, turned into everything.<\/p>\n Deep inside, something that had almost given up on life knows for sure that it\u2019s completely, vibrantly alive again, and my heart laughs because I barely remember happiness like this, but it\u2019s here, and it\u2019s now, and it\u2019s Cassidy holding me in his arms and kissing me for the first time.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n There was no one more deserving of love than Cassidy Porter and watching a love develop between Brynn and him was gorgeous.<\/p>\n Every second of my life, every step and misstep, every breath, every choice, every bit of luck and grace and mercy, has led me to this sacred space.
