They are in each other all along.”

I have had this book on my kindle for months and I was scared to dive in. Not because I thought it would be disappointing but rather because I knew it wouldn’t be. I had to be prepared for all the emotions I’d feel. I knew it would shatter my heart and it did. Oh, how it did. I was devastated. But it is an absolutely gorgeous and touching romance that was breathtaking despite its heartache inducing storyline.

Jonah Fletcher has months to live. He is a lonely man desperate to leave his mark on the world and he will fight to the end to make his dream a reality. Kacey Dawson is part of the hot band, Rapid Confession, and living the “rock and roll” lifestyle; however, her life doesn’t make her happy like she expected. She is lost and trying not to drown as her world crumbles around her. When Kacey ends up on Jonah’s couch, they share a beautiful connection that grows into something special and changes their lives forever.

I loved this book! As usual, Emma Scott’s writing is gorgeous and the storyline is unique. This story encompasses all the feels and is beautifully imagined with description so vast that I saw and felt everything as story was brought to life. The multi-layered characters and complex emotions portrayed touched my heart and I became instantly invested in Jonah and Kacey’s story.

Jonah’s strength was remarkable. He was the backbone for everyone else even with everything he was going through. He was realistic and his fears were believable and well-written. I loved his honesty and maturity, accepting his diagnosis and facing it head on. I loved his beautiful heart and his support and encouragement for Kacey was awe-inspiring. Even though he expected nothing in return for being there for Kacey, he ended up receiving everything and it filled me with joy to watch him fall in love.

My world had been fading to gray until she burst in like a bombshell of color and light.

Kacey was amazing. Her bravery and strength was remarkable, but she was also vulnerable. I felt her pain, regret, destruction, and disappointment as solidly as if they were mine to bear. She just wanted to be loved and my heart ached for everything she went through. I understood why she put up walls and I enjoyed watching Jonah tear them down. He was the catalyst to turn her life around and his unconditional support gave her the boost she needed to get her life back on track towards happiness. She was there for Jonah despite her fears and she ended up being the perfect person for him.

This romance was real, honest, and full of pain and tears. But it was also full of smiles, laughter, and love. Jonah and Kacey had an easy friendship that bloomed into so much more. The beauty of these friends-turned-lovers and the depth of their love was overwhelming. My heart was full when they finally gave in to the intense desire that had built between them and went all in.

“No going back, okay? No second-guessing. If we do, we just waste time. I don’t want to waste a single moment with you. Not one.” She pushed herself up onto her elbows. “Do you promise me? No going back?”…
“No going back,” I said, and sealed the vow with a kiss that was soft and gentle, but deep with intention.

They helped each other heal even as their future remained uncertain and the circumstances only made them stronger. Kacey and Jonah lived life to its fullest and made each other happy in a world that was seemingly unfair.

“We might not have months or years, but we have moments. Thousands upon thousands of them. Let’s take each moment, seize it and wring it dry.”

I loved the other characters in the book known as “the seven.” Whether they were family or friends, each person had an important role in the story and they found a special place in my heart as they stuck by Jonah even when it was painful. I loved Jonah’s brother, Theo, and the wonderful relationship between the brothers made me smile.

Throughout the book there were ideas taking shape and hints that pointed to what was to come. Though this book left me brokenhearted, it also filled me with hope and I cannot wait to dive into All In for the conclusion of this emotional duet. Overall, Full Tilt was a captivating and beautifully emotive love story and I definitely recommend it. It captures the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, and everything in between. Get ready to feel…and make sure you have the tissues ready!

*ARC generously provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*

Full Tilt Duet

Full Tilt (#1)
Review
Buy: Kindle Ebook | Paperback | Audio

All In (#2)
Review
Buy: Kindle Ebook | Paperback | Audio

Buy: Kindle Ebook | Paperback | Audio Review 5 “No regrets” stars “Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere.
