It’s a well-written, captivating read that tugged at my heartstrings. I knew this book would break me, that I would cry ugly tears. But along with the pain, it was also a wonderfully healing, especially heartwarming, and breathtakingly beautiful love story that has found a special place in my heart.

Hannah met identical twin brothers, Wes and Drew, while working at a diner and she fell madly in love with Drew, the outgoing brother. However, their happy, loving life was cut short when Drew dies of a heart attack at a young age of thirty-five. Left alone to pick up the pieces of her shattered life, she takes care of her daughter, Abby, the best way she can while barely living. Her devastation is all consuming and she truly believes that she will never find love again.

Nothing, and nobody, was yours forever. And the moment you thought they were, the moment you let go of fear and settled into contentment, taking for granted that all your dreams would come true – that’s the moment you lost it all.

Hannah knows that it’s common to run into people while living in a small town but nothing can prepare her for how she feels when she sees Wes for the first time since the funeral. Seeing him is a shock to her system and turns her world upside down. Wes is back in town taking over the medical practice Drew was set to run and he wants to be in his niece’s life. Hannah doesn’t know how she can spend time with the man who looks exactly like her late husband but she knows that she can’t keep him away from Abby. As they spend time together though, they grow closer and a future with love and happiness is in sight, if only they can grasp it.

Full of all the feels, this sweet, swoony, sexy, angsty, forbidden romance is a new favorite of mine. The story is addictive, passionate, and emotional, and I loved every bit of rollercoaster ride it put me through. The characters touched my soul and I found myself wholeheartedly invested in their lives.

I adored Hannah. She was a well-developed, realistically written character. The emotion that filled her was believable and ever present. Her loss was devastating and her heartbreak was tangible. There was pain, fear, guilt, confusion, longing, and love, and I experienced it all right along with her. Though she was insecure and vulnerable at times, she was an amazing heroine and her strength was inspiring. Hannah was so scared to admit the truth but it was easy to see what she fell in love with Wes. He was opposite of his brother and yet he was just what she needed.

“Let me love you, the way I’ve always wanted to.”

OMG Wes! *dreamy sigh* What an absolutely amazing, swoony, sweet, big hearted man. He was loyal and honorable and an all-around great guy. I fell for him fast and hard. Loyalty and selflessness radiated from him and I loved that he made decisions based on these wonderful qualities even if it broke his heart. When he loves he does so completely and he didn’t give up when faced with challenges. It was so refreshing that he never wavered in his feelings even when he was vulnerable. He loved Hannah fiercely and I felt it in my soul.

I wanted to go back and do it all over. Everything. From the very beginning.
I wanted to make her mine.

Wes and Hannah were incredible together. Their friendship progressed naturally and was believable. Both experienced the grief of losing a loved one and they understood the constant ache inside them. They were honest with each other and knew when to listen and when to speak. The romance was well-paced and created a delicious buildup of tension as their attraction grew. While they navigated unfamiliar and scary territory, their emotions were real and I felt their reservations as well as their intense desire. They shared a passionate love that warmed my heart and put a permanent smile on my face, and the pain they experienced was worth it in order to get to their HEA.

“Maybe I deserved to watch you fall in love with my brother instead of me. But maybe it just wasn’t our time then. Maybe it’s our time now.“

There was part of me that was so nervous starting this book because I didn’t know how I would feel about Hannah falling in love with Wes, not necessarily because he was her brother-in-law, but more so because he looked exactly like Drew. I didn’t know if I would feel their connection and truly believe that she loved Wes for who he was and not just the vision she saw when she looked at him. I shouldn’t have worried because Melanie Harlow masterfully created an epic romance from a sensitive storyline, and I loved it all.

The secondary characters, especially Abby, were fantastic and I loved seeing Jack and Margot again. Even the people who challenged Wes and Hannah’s love were realistic and had an important part. Concluding the story was a beautiful epilogue that left me with happy tears and a happy heart. Overall, From This Moment is a stunning love story that shows you that “love wins every time.”

*ARC generously provided by the author and Social butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review*

About the Author

Melanie Harlow likes her martinis dry, her heels high, and her history with the naughty bits left in.
