I really enjoyed Charlie Parker in A Thousand Letters<\/i><\/a> so when I found out he was getting his own book I was ecstatic. My heart cracked in half when Charlie\u2019s wife, Mary, revealed that she was cheating on him\u00a0and then it shattered into a million pieces when she up and left him and the kids.<\/p>\n

My life had been turned upside down and shaken out, leaving a mess I didn\u2019t know how to clean up.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Charlie is desperate for a nanny and hires Hannah, an au pair from Holland, to take care of his kids, Sammy and Maven. She is a breath of fresh air and seems to be the perfect fit, but only time will tell.<\/p>\n

A Little Too Late<\/i> is a sweet, heartwarming romance that put a smile on my face.\u00a0I loved the plot and enjoyed the characters. I was invested in Charlie and Hannah\u2019s story from the beginning and the dual POVs\u00a0strengthened my love for them.<\/p>\n

I really felt for Charlie. He is loving, responsible, and wants nothing more than his kids to be happy. But he is not without his faults. He desperately wants to be a good father but is still missing out. He is a workaholic and at a complete loss when it comes to caring for his kids. He is defeated and vulnerable, and his situation is crushing and my heart hurt for how things unfolded when Mary left him.\u00a0The lasting effect it had on him is devastating. I felt his fears and challenges as he tried his best with the kids.<\/p>\n

Charlie isn\u2019t looking for someone and he\u2019s accepted that he has no time for anything or anyone other than his children and his work. But then Hannah arrives and Charlie is surprised at how wonderful and unexpected she is. She is off limits but it doesn’t dissuade their attraction towards each other.<\/p>\n

I knew I should try to keep my distance, keep as much space between us as I could, but instead, we would circle each other in a dance I found myself not wanting to end.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hannah is adorable. Friendly, outgoing and so sweet, I could picture her perfectly. She has a delightful personality and cares deeply for the people in her life. She is gorgeous inside and out and is fantastic with the kids. She is also wonderful with Charlie with her patience, understanding, and support. Watching Charlie overcome his insecurities and fears warmed my soul and knowing Hannah helps facilitate his growth made it even more uplifting.<\/p>\n

Hannah seamlessly joined the family as a nanny but it\u2019s clear that she and Charlie share a connection unlike one they\u2019ve felt before. Hannah kick starts his heart and lights up his world.<\/p>\n

For the first time in a very long time, I was reminded that I could feel, that I could want, that I was a man, not a robot. Not just a father or a cuckold or a workaholic. It was a reminder I was alive.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hannah is exactly who Charlie needs in his life. She gives him peace and her belief in him is beautiful. She shows him what he was missing all those years – the warmth, love, and devotion he craved.<\/p>\n

She was everything Mary wasn\u2019t. They were day and night, the angel and the devil. And I knew I would find salvation in Hannah\u2019s arms just as I found hell in Mary\u2019s.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Their relationship is slow building, starting out first as employer and\u00a0employee then becoming a friendship that is easy and natural. I enjoyed watching their attraction grow stronger and a gorgeous relationship start to bloom. They are sweet, passionate, and sensual with each other and it is beautiful as they commit to each other. However, their relationship is far from simple and it is distressing when it’s challenged. Thankfully the epilogue dried my tears and was a perfect conclusion to this sweet love story.<\/p>\n

I have to give a shout out to Sam and Maven. The children played a huge role in this book and I loved them. They added lightheartedness to the heartbreak, and they were so sweet and innocent, I just wanted to hug them.<\/p>\n

Overall, A Little Too Late<\/i> is a beautiful story about hope, healing, and finding love when you least expect it. I loved it!<\/p>\n

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. <\/span><\/p>\n

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver.
