5 \u2018OMG the feeeeels\u2019 stars!<\/b><\/p>\n

OMG, this book has just blown me away! It\u2019s the kind of story that it\u2019s best to just dive in and experience without knowing anything going in, just be prepared for feels! I laughed, I cried, my heart broke, and I absolutely fell in love. Every moment in this book is something special and I loved it all.<\/p>\n

Viper was introduced during the Cranberry Inn<\/i> series, and while this book technically follows on from that, featuring a lot of the characters that we have already met (including Brody and Kacie- squee), it can definitely be read as a standalone.<\/p>\n

Viper is a pro hockey player. Gorgeous, rich and arrogant, he is a manwhoring badboy who is absolutely shameless when it comes to his exploits. And we get to see him living it up in all of his slutty glory until one moment changes everything.<\/p>\n

Six months ago, I was happy. I was playing amazing hockey, had the best friends in the world, fucking whoever I wanted\u2026 life was great. In one stupid moment, it all changed , and now I can\u2019t get that happiness back. I don\u2019t remember what happy feels like anymore. Everything is dark and dreary.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There is an ominous prologue which give you an idea where the story is going, but it still hit me hard in the gut when it happened. Definitely a surprise, and OMG, it\u2019s so intense! But it forms the basis for the rest of the story, which concentrates very strongly on Viper and his incredible journey.<\/p>\n

The book is written mainly from Viper\u2019s POV, and I LOVE getting inside his head! He\u2019s such a ass, but he feels deeply, and I loved being there with him as he goes through everything that he does. We see his unapologetic arrogance, his heartbreak and his pain, and then his healing as he comes to realise the man that he wants to be, and works to become that man. It\u2019s an amazing transition, and it\u2019s done beautifully! And the love story that blossoms as Viper changes is gorgeous.<\/p>\n

For the first time in my life, I\u2019d met a woman who I wanted to hang out with constantly, wanted to know every single thing I could about her, wanted to protect her fiercely, yet she was untouchable.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s a painful journey and there are many obstacles for them to face \u2013 both individually and together – so it\u2019s a slow burn, but it is heartfelt, realistic, and absolutely beautiful.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause I belong here. Because I belong with you. Because as much as you try to fight it, you know you belong with me too \u2026 I fell in love with you.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But it\u2019s not all heartbreak and deep feels. There are lots of light moments, and many times I laughed out loud at his antics. Firstly, with his boys…<\/p>\n

\u201cAren\u2019t they sweet?\u201d Andy mocked as he clapped his hands together near his face and batted his eyelashes dramatically.
\n\u201cWe <\/i>are fucking sweet,\u201d I bellowed arrogantly. \u201cOur bromance is amazing. We\u2019re like a modern-day Romeo and Romeo.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And his time spent with the kids in the story was absolutely heart-warming, and totally hilarious!<\/p>\n

He picked up the remote and changed the channel from the baseball game to some obnoxious cartoon with a singing yellow sponge.
\nI stared in disgust as the porous little bastard danced around the screen and poked his big pink friend in the gut.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And then there\u2019s his grandma. OMG, I love her! She is a \u201cfoul-mouthed, whiskey-drinking badass who told it like it was and didn\u2019t take crap from anyone\u201d<\/i>, and their relationship is sensational.<\/p>\n

I looked back and forth from my glass to hers. \u201cWhy does your tea look different?\u201d
\n\u201cBecause my tea is whiskey.\u201d She grinned proudly.
\n\u201cWhiskey?\u201d I stared at it incredulously before checking the time on my phone. \u201cIt\u2019s ten thirty in the morning.\u201d
\n\u201cLawrence, when you\u2019re my age, you learn to do things when you want to do them, not when it\u2019s socially acceptable. Hell, who knows if I\u2019ll still be around at dinner time? While we\u2019re on the subject, I had half a tub of mint chocolate chip ice cream for dinner last night. Cheers!\u201d She raised her glass again and winked at me.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I devoured this book in one night. Sucked in from the very first page and unable to put it down. It\u2019s a quick read, but Beth Ehemann still does a great job and creating something very special.<\/p>\n

This book is beautifully written, and I loved how the two stories combined so effortlessly. Viper\u2019s story and the coming together of two people going through hell and finding each other was absolutely magic.<\/p>\n

I loved it \u2013 5 stars.<\/p>\n
