I feel like I\u2019ve returned from a visit with dear friends after spending time with the Hale, Cobalt and Meadows families all over again. I freaking Love The Addicted<\/i> series and this spin off featuring the next generation, and all of these characters have such a special place in my heart. And this book is a whole lot of quality time with characters that I love, revelling in the dynamics (both good and bad) that make this series so sensational, and losing myself once again in an absolutely gorgeous romance that is sweet, funny, passionate and full of chemistry.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s mine. I\u2019m his, and there\u2019s no better feeling than that.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In the first book of the series we were introduced to a grown-up Maximoff Hale and got to watch as he fell head over heels in love with his childhood crush and now-bodyguard, Farrow Keane. The intensity of their romance took them both by surprise, and though it was forbidden for them to become involved, they couldn\u2019t help themselves. After their relationship was dramatically outed in the last book, they are settling into being a couple in front of their family and the rest of the security crew, with both of them revelling in their mad love for each other and Farrow still committed to protecting his client \u2013 now boyfriend.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m the shield that protects Maximoff Hale, and I\u2019m never going to break and leave him defenceless.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This book throws us right back into Maximoff and Farrow\u2019s world, with them dealing with the fallout from the drama that ended the last book. Though the boys are stronger than ever, things are strained between the rest of the family, and with Farrow\u2019s colleagues, and in an effort to fix things, the decision is made that Moffy and his four eldest cousins (Jane, Sulli, Beckett and Charlie) will head off on a \u2018meet and greet\u2019 tour around the country. For four months. In a bus. With their security guards along for the ride.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll five of us are going on tour,\u201d I say aloud. Letting this reality sink in.
\nNo, it\u2019s still a-hundred-million-percent bizarre. All five of us together. Sleeping on a tour bus with our six bodyguards. A total of eleven people on one bus. Driving across America.
\nHow\u2019d I agree to this fucking mayhem?<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The stage is set for all kinds of fun and drama, and that\u2019s exactly what we get as cousins who are closer than siblings, friends, enemies and lovers are locked into enforced quality time. I laughed so much at the antics of this crew. There are fun and games, and a whole lot of inappropriateness and smack-talk, and I loved watching them all together.<\/p>\n

\u201cGod, could you even imagine? What would I say? Hello Mr. Moretti, I\u2019m in need of some oral assistance. Would you be so kind to spread my knees?\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And as if the madness on the bus isn\u2019t enough, Moffy remains in \u2018protect my family\u2019 mode, being the one that his siblings and cousins look up to and turn to for help. And Farrow has discovered that Moffy has a stalker, and he is determined to find the identify of the dangerous predator and bring them down \u2013 not only to protect his client, but also the man he loves.<\/p>\n

I remember what Jane said about most people \u201ccrushing\u201d on Maximoff. I can\u2019t believe it. he\u2019s such a man\u2019s man. People either admire him, want to be him, or want to fuck him.
\nAnd I never forget that out of everyone, he fell in love with me.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

OMG, I am such a \u2018Marrow\u2019 fan! The chemistry between them absolutely sizzles, it\u2019s practically another character in the book and you can feel it crackling every time they even so much as glance at one another. Seriously \u2013 every. single. time. But along with all of that intensity, there is a great sense of fun between them as they joke and tease, and of course their love for each other is beautiful to see. They are together, committed, and their feelings for each other grows every day, and I adore their relationship.<\/p>\n

I never even dreamed about falling in love until I fell in love with him. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But it\u2019s the cast as a whole that make this book so special, and as always, the Ritchie sisters have totally nailed it. The writing is so vivid and descriptive, that you can see every scene playing out in front of you. The dialogue is sharp and witty as always, but the grins, the side looks and the little subtle shifts are all there, showing fantastic depth in each of the characters and their dynamics that these authors write so well.<\/p>\n

And as much as I love these families, the security guys really came into their own in this book and I loved getting to know them better and see their individual personalities. They are a great bunch, with their own sets of quirks, and I loved that we got to see the close relationships that they have with each other, as well as the love and dedication they have for the celebrities they protect. There were so many moments that were just pure gold.<\/p>\n

Donnelly subtly eyes them while facing us too. \u201cThose mugs are bugging Beckett.\u201d I can\u2019t detect Beckett\u2019s annoyance. But not a second later, he realigns the mugs in a neat row.
\nMaximoff gesticulates from his chest to Sulli, speaking extremely fucking empathetically to his cousin.
\nI skim him, a smile playing at my lips, and I take a swig of coffee. \u201cHe\u2019s about to hug her.\u201d On cue, Maximoff wraps his arms around his cousin, and she squeezes him back.
\nAkara bounces his ball. \u201cShe\u2019ll buy a Sagittarius something for me. Wait for it\u2026\u201d We watch Sulli scan the shelves and then veer to a display of zodiac jewelry. She plucks a silver Sagittarius keychain off a hook.
\nSpending 24\/7 with a person has this effect.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There\u2019s not a huge amount of forward momentum in the story with this book, but what\u2019s there is special, and it allows us to get to know these characters better (which is always a fantastic thing), and creates a whole slew of theories in my head for future hook ups. Moffy and Farrow are left in a great spot, and with another book for them to come, I can\u2019t wait to see what\u2019s in store next.<\/p>\n
