Rory Haven lives in Center Sandwich, an extremely small town in New Hampshire. His family owns the Summerhaven Camp for Children and Rory and his two siblings, who make up the Haven triplets, work there each summer. Of course there are strict policies about employees fraternizing with the guests but it doesn\u2019t stop Rory for noticing Brittany Manion, the heiress to a hotel corporation. For four years he \u201dexperienced a totally one-sided, from-a-distance love affair\u201d<\/i> until he left for college.<\/p>\n

Rory had big dreams but after a family emergency brings him home, he finds himself back at the camp with his dreams crushed. Six years later he\u2019s still there managing everything and has changed it to the Summerhaven Conference and Event Center.\u00a0When a woman books the center for her wedding, Rory never imagined it would be Brittany.<\/p>\n

Fighting Irish<\/i> is a sweet, light read mixed with humor and heart. I loved the idea of teenagers noticing each other from afar and not really getting to know one another until years later.<\/p>\n

Rory is wonderful. He is selfless, sweet, and loving. He puts family first and will do anything for them.\u00a0He has a huge heart and I enjoyed watching his feelings for Brittany return. I love that he is there for her when she is hurting, and he is patient and gentle with her giving her exactly what she needs.<\/p>\n

Brittany is different than the girl that Rory remembers from Camp. I\u2019ll admit it took me a little longer to warm up to her. I wanted more from her character but then as the story progresses so does she and her character takes on new depth. She isn\u2019t superficial of flashy and she has a good heart.\u00a0Brittany wants so badly to find someone who will love her and give her the loving family she didn’t have. She has bad luck when it comes to men and it saddened me how lonely she feels. I loved the growth she goes through as she realizes what she truly wants.<\/p>\n

Rory is perfect for Brittany and I loved them together. Their relationship is natural and easy. They have great chemistry and the sexual tension builds nicely. Rory and Brittany are comfortable with each other and even a little silly and awkward which put a smile on my face.<\/p>\n

I loved that we got to meet the other two Haven siblings, Tierney and Ian. Both seem interesting and I am excited to read their stories, Smiling Irish\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Loving Irish<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Though it wasn\u2019t as angsty or emotional as some of Katy Regnery\u2019s other books, Fighting Irish<\/i> was still an enjoyable, feel good read that I couldn\u2019t put down. It was a great start to a new series and I can\u2019t wait for more of T<\/em>he Summerhaven Trio<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
