Funny, romantic, honest, insightful, and just a wee bit nasty. Everybody is raving over this book, and I totally understand why!<\/p>\n

Told entirely from the male POV, our narrator is Drew and he is brilliant! He is a rich, spoiled, arrogant, overly-confident, unapologetic man-whore, and yet he makes you fall in instant love with him. Perhaps because when we meet him he is suffering from his very first heartbreak, and so he endears himself to us immediately. Seeing him vulnerable and completely miserable, we are automatically pulled into the story, wanting to know more, and so Drew goes back to tell us how he got the point where he is at.<\/p>\n

\u201cWomen fall in love quicker than men. Easier and more often. But when guys fall? We go down harder. And when things go bad? When it\u2019s not us who ends it? We don\u2019t get to walk away. We crawl.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It all starts when he meets Kate Brooks. He is immediately attracted to her and, unaccustomed to having to work to seduce women, is shocked when she turns him down.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never seduced a woman before. Shocking, I know. Let me clarify. I\u2019ve never had to seduce a woman before, not in the typical sense. Usually, it just takes a look, a wink, a smile. A friendly greeting, maybe a drink or two. After that, the only verbal exchange involves short one-word phrases like\u00a0<\/em>harder, more, lower\u2026 you get the point.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kate then shows up as the new employee at his work, where Drew reigns supreme. He continues flirting with her (unsuccessfully) but this soon turns into animosity and fierce competition when the two of them are pitted against each other to win a new client, and the antics they go to best each other are absolutely hilarious! It\u2019s childish, immature, and full of aggression (kicks in the shin anybody?) \u2013 and I loved it!<\/p>\n

\u201cI flip Kate the finger. Immature, I know, but apparently we\u2019re now both functioning at the preschool level, so I\u2019m guessing it\u2019s ok.
\nKate sneers at me. Then she mouths,\u00a0<\/em>You wish.
\nWell \u2013 she\u2019s got me there, now doesn\u2019t she?\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The chemistry between these two is phenomenal. Their banter is fantastically witty, and the love\/hate thing they have going on is funny as hell and builds the UST brilliantly. It doesn\u2019t take too long for the two of them to cave into the passion between them and there are some pretty sensational steamy scenes \u2013 it\u2019s hot and explicit, but there is some strong emotion there as well, and I loved how it all plays out.<\/p>\n

\u201cEdward Cullen can take his stupid heroin and OD on it. Kate is my own personal brand of Viagra.<\/em>\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I loved seeing Drew fall so hard for Kate! And even though afterwards he pulls a major douche move and stuffs everything up, he is totally committed to how he feels, and commences to pull off the most epic, EPIC grovel, and the whole thing is just pure win. It would be impossible not to forgive the man! And all from Drew\u2019s POV makes it even better.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to fight to prove to you that this is real. That I\u2019m not going anywhere and that what I feel for you isn\u2019t going to change. And then someday \u2013 maybe not any time soon, but one day \u2013 I\u2019m going to tell you that you, Kate Brooks, are the love of my life, and you won\u2019t have any doubt that it\u2019s true.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I loved the opportunity to be inside of Drew\u2019s head, and I loved how conversational his narrative is. It\u2019s like he is talking to the reader, and it works brilliantly with the story, especially with him throwing in some sensational insights along the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cI bet you didn\u2019t know this, but lots of guys have a thing for Ariel. You know, from The Little Mermaid? I\u2019ve never been into her myself, but I can understand the attraction: she fills out her shells nicely, she\u2019s a redhead, and she spends most of the movie unable to speak.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

and this\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cMackenzie raises her hand proudly. \u201cI have a bagina.\u201d
\nI smirk. \u201cYes, you do sweetheart. And someday, it\u2019s gonna help you rule the world.\u201d
\n\u201cJohnny Fitzgerald has a penis. He says his penis is better than my bagina.\u201d
\n\u201cJohnny Fitzgerald\u2019s an idiot. Vaginas beat penises every time. They\u2019re like kryptonite. Penises are defenceless against them.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

and this…<\/p>\n

\u201cI once heard my mother tell my father that she shouldn\u2019t have to explain why she was pissed. That if he didn\u2019t already know what he\u2019d done wrong, then he wasn\u2019t really sorry for it. What the fuck does that even mean? Newsflash ladies: We can\u2019t read your thoughts. And frankly, I\u2019m not entirely sure I\u2019d want to. The female mind is a scary place to be.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is a fantastically entertaining read, it\u2019s funny, it\u2019s crude, and it has a gorgeous romantic story, all coming from a sensational protagonist. I loved both Drew and Kate, and there is a great supporting cast \u2013 Drew\u2019s family (including his scene-stealing 4 year old niece), his friends, who are just as rude and disgusting as he is, and Kate\u2019s kickass BFF, Dee Dee. I\u2019m really looking forward to more from these characters, and can\u2019t wait to get my hands on their stories.<\/p>\n

Absolutely loved it. 5 stars.<\/p>\n
