OMG, I love this book! A sweet, easy and sexy romance that is laugh-out-loud funny and so much fun! It\u2019s the beginning of Sara Ney\u2019s new series, Jock Hard<\/i>, and she totally nailed it!<\/p>\n

Set in the same Iowa College as her How to Date a Douchebag<\/i> series, this series stands independently of the D-bag books, and switches over to the activities of Jock Row, the street where the elite sports stars of the college live and party.<\/p>\n

This book brings us the story of Scarlett – the least likely person to come into this world. She is quirky and a bit of a nerd, but absolutely confident in herself and who she is and I freaking love her! She\u2019s smart and witty with a fantastic sense of humor, and she had me giggling pretty much instantly.<\/p>\n

\u201cNerd alert!\u201d I tease, pointing a finger at myself, \u201cI just bought a new book, and I\u2019ve been waiting for it to release for nine months \u2013 nine! That\u2019s a damn eternity in romance novel years. You\u2019re lucky I dragged myself off the couch.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scarlett is being dragged to a party at the baseball house one night by her \u2018cleat-chasing\u2019 girlfriends. She\u2019s not interested in parties, she doesn\u2019t want to be there, and she makes a general nuisance of herself by calling out the boys on their primping and lying, shooting down their tired pick-up lines, and getting in the way of their potential hook-ups.<\/p>\n

The boys of the baseball team immediately label her as a \u201cCock Blocker\u201d, and they go to their beloved captain to escort her out of the house and keep her from getting back in.<\/p>\n

OMG, I love Rowdy! Sterling \u2018Rowdy\u2019 Wade is a star baseball player. Tall, gorgeous, infinitely sexy and overly confident \u2013 but in a charming way – he\u2019s a good guy with a huge heart, and even though he\u2019s barring her from re-entering the house, he isn\u2019t about to leave Scarlett out in the cold by herself. So he takes her to the porch and hangs with her, and the two of them engage in some of the best bantering I\u2019ve read in a while.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemind me again why I followed you out here?\u201d
\n\u2026 \u201cDon\u2019t beat yourself up about it \u2013 any one of those girls would have followed me out here, too.\u201d
\nOh brother, he\u2019s modest too? \u201cAnd why do you suppose that is?\u201d

Scarlett and Rowdy just \u2018click\u2019. They banter, they tease, they laugh and they play stupid games, and their evening together on the porch surprises them both when they both start to feel a flicker of attraction to each other. So the next week when Scarlett\u2019s friends return to the house for a party, she tags along again to see Rowdy\u2026 and the next week\u2026 and the next. And he\u2019s always waiting for her. And as their friendship develops, their attraction continues to grow, and OMG, the chemistry is sensational!<\/p>\n

Written in dual POV, we get to see every hot and hilarious moment of Scarlett and Rowdy falling for each other, and this book is just scene after the scene of the two of them together playing, laughing, teasing, texting and flirting and it is romantic comedy GOLD! They are completely open with each other and there is no stupid behaviour from either of them. I revelled in every moment of them together and fell right alongside them as their feels become too much to ignore, and the emotion blends wonderfully with the sizzling sexual tension to create a believable, loveable and completely engaging love story that I could not put down.<\/p>\n

I dig into my Chinese food with my fork, pretending not to listen \u2013 but if I were a GIF, I\u2019d be the Michael Jackson eating popcorn in a movie theatre one, so engrossed am I.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yep!<\/p>\n

I love romances like this and Sara Ney has done such a great job with this story. I read this book in one night, absolutely enthralled, laughing frequently and falling in mad love with both of these characters. It\u2019s sweet, easy and fun with no drama, and a beautiful love story that is emotional, sexy and full of chemistry. I can\u2019t wait for more from this series.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a sucker for those.<\/p>\n

She shoots me a tentative smile, ass parked on the stoop, back propped against the wooden siding of the house.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s obvious that she\u2019s blushing by the way she ducks her head, glancing down at the floor, the soft glow from the two busted lamps illuminate the crown of her head.<\/p>\n

The porch lights are busted and rusty, needing their bulbs changed, one flickering\u2014the other just about to burn out. It makes the entire place look like a goddamn Halloween fun-house, casting a weird glow on the girl\u2019s smooth, pale skin.<\/p>\n

And her pretty dimple.<\/p>\n

Stop staring at it, dipshit.<\/em><\/p>\n

I cast my glance at her outfit, doing my best to analyze her under the dim lights; she must have been sweaty inside the house; I got a good look at her before convincing her to follow me, but still study her as if seeing her for the first time.<\/p>\n

Both of her boots are tucked under her legs, and she sits, cross-legged on the ground.\u00a0 She blows out a frustrated puff of air that translates into a billowing stream of steam.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo.\u201d She wraps her puffed sleeved arms around her knees, hugging them tight. Shivers.\u00a0 \u201cNow what?\u201d<\/p>\n

Her prim ponytail is jaunty, bobbing when she tilts her head to gaze over at me.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow I babysit you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLovely. We can bond.\u201d<\/p>\n

I position my large body against the railing, giving it a gentle shake to make sure it\u2019s sturdy before supporting all my weight on it. It\u2019s solid and secure and is going to get real uncomfortable real fucking fast if I have to stand here all night.<\/p>\n

The girl raises her brows at me. They appear black in this light; full and arched expertly.\u00a0 \u201cHave you babysat anyone before?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one I managed to keep alive,\u201d I joke. \u201cA few cousins my parents forced me to watch a few times; never would feed them but would occasionally throw out a dog bone so they wouldn\u2019t get hungry.\u201d<\/p>\n

She smiles, dimple denting the smooth right side of her face. \u201cIs that what you have planned for me?\u201d<\/p>\n

I raise my empty hands. \u201cI\u2019m fresh out of Scooby snacks. Guess we\u2019ll both have to starve.\u201d<\/p>\n
