OMG, I love this book! Crown Prince Magnus of Norway absolutely stole my heart, and the slow burn of this chemistry-filled romance is absolute perfection with teasing, bantering, laugh-out-loud moments, flirting, hotness and gorgeous swoon. I devoured every moment of this one and couldn\u2019t put it down.<\/p>\n

Magnus was introduced in The Swedish Prince<\/a>, though these books haven\u2019t been linked as a series and this one is a standalone. He is the wildly irreverent, adrenaline junkie playboy, and heir to the throne of Norway. He is a sarcastic and fun-loving man-child, and he squeezes every experience he can out of his life, becoming a target for the paparazzi and an endless source of stress for his parents, the King and Queen. But his latest exploit is the last straw for his family and they have demanded he clean up his image \u2013 with a wedding. Presented with a list of \u2018suitable\u2019 women, it is Princess Isabella of Lichtenstein that catches his eye, and though he is appalled by the whole idea, he can see no other way out of his predicament, and he agrees to meet with her.<\/p>\n

Ella is attending University in Scotland. Having been sent away for school for most of her life, she hasn\u2019t really lived the royal experience and has little to do with her family. Though it hurts, it\u2019s the way it\u2019s always been, and she has sadly become used to her solitary life with nobody but her faithful \u2018lady in waiting\u2019, Jane by her side. When she is invited to meet with the royal family of Norway, she dutifully goes along, having no idea what is in store for her. She knows of Prince Magnus, of course, and at first glance she is struck dumb by his royal hotness, and then she learns the real purpose for her visit.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou would be completely okay with being married to a stranger? You\u2019d be okay with marriage in general? You do know you have a <\/i>horrible reputation amongst women, don\u2019t you?\u201d
\nHe glares at me. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t call it horrible.\u201d
\n\u201cYou\u2019re a manwhore, playboy, womanizer.\u201d I tick off my fingers. \u201cWannabe Cassanova.\u201d
\n\u201cWannabe? I think I\u2019ve fully achieved Cassanova status at this point.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

OMG, Magnus and Ella together are MAGIC! It\u2019s a unique situation they are in, and they don\u2019t hold anything back from the other as they lay it all out, and the sarcastic snark and banter is so much fun. Though they are wildly attracted to each other, neither of them are ok with the idea of an arranged marriage but, for their own reasons, they agree to at least get to know each other to see if they could possibly make a go of it and it\u2019s all gold!<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d she asks, trying to wrestle her hand out of mine.
\n\u201cHolding your hand,\u201d I tell her. \u201cYou see I\u2019m dastardly like that.\u201d
\n\u201cMore like bastardly,\u201d she mumbles under her breath.
\n\u201cThat\u2019s the spirit,\u201d I goad her. \u201cA few more back and forths like that and it\u2019ll be like we can hold an actual conversation.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There is a strong sexual tension running through every encounter and through the teasing, playfulness and arguing, every moment is dripping with chemistry and so much fun. And as they truly begin to open up to each other, true feelings begin to develop, and I felt every single spine-tingling, swoony, heart-pounding moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always had trouble focusing on the right things. I\u2019ve had a hard time trying to pay attention to things in life that most people do. I\u2019ve struggled to make sense of the way I see the world. But\u2026when I see you, you\u2019re all I see.\u201d I stare down at her lips. \u201cI know that doesn\u2019t sound like much but to me, it means everything. You\u2019re starting to mean everything to me.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But the clock is winding down to decision time, making their situation all the more intense. Magnus and Ella have a lot to figure out and their journey is an emotional one, and I was captivated as it all played out.<\/p>\n

I won\u2019t go into details because it\u2019s best to just dive in and enjoy it. Magnus and Ella are fantastic characters. They both have some personal issues they need to deal with, but nothing that overshadows the story, just elements that add depth. I love the playfulness of their relationship \u2013 mostly due to Magnus\u2019 man-child behaviour – but Ella is a wonderful match for him. Of course there\u2019s a lot of funny moments, and I loved the sarcastic humour, but there\u2019s also heartfelt conversations and soul searching that goes on, and I love the changes we see in them as the two of them discover depths to themselves and each other that they didn\u2019t know existed. And as they truly open up to what is happening between them, the sexy time is seriously hot with lots of dirty talk and a whole lot of intensity, but more than that, the emotion that builds is beautifully written and so freaking swoony, and I fell in love right alongside them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a Viking heart. And with this heart, I can\u2019t be afraid to love you bravely and boldly, Ella. I have fierce love for you, the kind that eats me up inside, the kind that influences everything I do. This fierce love might scare the both of us from time to time but it\u2019s mine and it\u2019s yours.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They have ups and downs, and it\u2019s an emotional ride, but it\u2019s not too angsty, just the right amount of drama to enhance the story and make this a fantastically captivating read.<\/p>\n

I loved Magnus and his family, I loved Ella, I loved the staff around them that create an almost-family, with hilariously entertaining dynamics. I loved that we got to catch up with Viktor (from The Swedish Prince<\/i>), and I loved the glimpse of King Aksel whose story I\u2019m assuming (hoping) is up next. This funny, sexy and swoony romance completely stole my heart, and I freaking loved it!<\/p>\n
