OMG, this book! This book is EVERYTHING that I love about Emma Chase. EVERYTHING! It\u2019s funny, sweet, smart, sexy and romantic, and a functional, easy friends-to-lovers romance that absolutely captured my heart. I was in love from the beginning right through to the end and I reveled in every moment of this wonderfully entertaining and blissfully romantic story.<\/p>\n

Excerpt<\/strong><\/h4>\n

I sit down in the desk chair and lean back, balancing on the hind legs like my mother always told me not to. I fold my hands behind my head, put my feet on the desk, and sigh with contentment.<\/p>\n

Because life is sweet.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s going to be a great year.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re not all great\u2014some years suck donkey balls\u2014my best players graduate and it\u2019s a rebuilding year, which means a lot of \u2018L\u2019s\u2019 on the board, or sometimes you just get a crappy crop of students. But this year\u2019s going to be awesome\u2014I can feel it.<\/p>\n

And then, something catches my eye outside the window in the parking lot.<\/p>\n

Someone.<\/p>\n

And my balance goes to shit.<\/p>\n

I swing my arms like a baby bird, hang in the air for half a second\u2026and then topple back in a heap. Not my smoothest move.<\/p>\n

But right now, it doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n

I pull myself up to my feet, step over the chair towards the window, all the while peering at the blond in the navy blue pencil skirt walking across the parking lot.<\/p>\n

And the ass that, even from this distance\u2014I would know anywhere.<\/p>\n

Callaway Carpenter. Holy shit.<\/p>\n

She looks amazing, even more beautiful than the last time I saw her\u2026than the first time I saw her. You never forget your first. Isn\u2019t that what they say? Callie was my first and for a long time, I thought she\u2019d be my only.<\/p>\n

The first time I laid my eyes on her, it felt like getting sacked by a three-hundred pound defensive lineman with an axe to grind. She looked like an angel. Golden hair framing petite, delicate features\u2014a heart-shaped face, a dainty jaw, a cute nose and these big, round, blinking green eyes I wanted to drown in.<\/p>\n

Wait\u2026back up\u2026that\u2019s not actually true. That\u2019s a lie.<\/p>\n

I was fifteen when I met Callie, and fifteen year old boys are notorious perverts, so the first thing I noticed about her wasn\u2019t her face. It was her tits\u2014they were full and round and absolutely perfect.<\/p>\n

The second thing I noticed was her mouth\u2014shiny and pink with a bee-stung bottom lip. In a blink, a hundred fantasies had gone through my head of what she could do with that mouth\u2026what I could show her how to do.<\/p>\n

Then I saw her angel face. That\u2019s how it happened.<\/p>\n

And just like that\u2014I was gone.<\/p>\n

We were \u201cthe\u201d couple in high school\u2014Brenda and Eddie from that Billy Joel song. The star quarterback and the theater queen.<\/p>\n

She was the love of my life, before I had any fucking idea what love was\u2026and then, still, even after I did.<\/p>\n

We broke up when she went away to college and I stayed here in Jersey\u2014couldn\u2019t survive the distance. It was a quiet ending, when I went out to visit her in\u00a0 California, no drama or hysterics.\u00a0 Just some hard truths, tears, one last night together in her dorm room bed, and a morning of goodbye.<\/p>\n

She never really came home again after that. At least, not long enough for us to run into each other. I haven\u2019t seen her in years\u2014in a lifetime.<\/p>\n

But she\u2019s here now.<\/p>\n

At my school.<\/p>\n

And you can bet Callie\u2019s sweet ass I\u2019m going to find out why.<\/p>\n
