I was expecting light, fluffy and sexy with side of unrealism and possessive alpha male, and that’s what I got – pure romantic escapism!

Brandon is the son of Kat, who married November’s Dad, Mike in Second Chance Holiday. Introduced as a moody teen, he is now all grown up, hot as hell, and managing the family’s gentleman’s club. He interviewing for a new employee when Aurora walks into the room and just like that, Brandon experiences the boom!

If I thought I was a goner just by looking at her, the minute her eyes meet mine…I see it. I feel it. Mine. I don’t know how I know, but fuck, I’ve heard my family all discuss the boom. Every single one of them succumbing to this boom. At first, I didn’t think I would get it, but no? Now, I fucking see it.

Aurora is in a desperate situation, caring for her younger sister following the death of their parents, she needs a job. But she gets a whole lot more than she bargained for when she meets Brandon.

Like the rest of the boys in this series, when Brandon meets the one, he knows it instantly, and he has no intention of staying away. Of course he doesn’t freak her out with huge declarations immediately, but he’s calling her “babe”, being all possessive and acting like a total alpha-in-love from the first moment. So it’s a matter of suspending real life for a bit and just enjoying the pure entertainment value of the story.

“What do you want to know?” she asks me, looking at me. My other hand reaches out to hold her face, rubbing my thumb across her cheek.
“Everything,” I tell her softly. “I want to know everything.”

There’s a lot that goes on in this book, and rather than feeling like a novella, it has the feeling of a full-length book in fast forward. Storylines that I wish were explored more, instead just feel like they’re rushed and I had to wonder why they were included in the story when they couldn’t be explored in proper detail. And the love story is SUPER fast moving…

Spoiler

they are declaring love and officially living together after 4 days – even though she and her sister actually moved in with Brandon on day 2 for ‘safety reasons’.

But I did enjoy this book. It’s a really quick read and a sweet happy ending for these two characters.

3 stars.

This novella forms part of Aurora Rose Reynolds’ Happily Ever Alpha Kindle World featuring stories by various authors about characters or couples that you have met in the Until series while others have just referred to a place or person from one of the Until books.

Amazon Series Page

Click here for more details on the Until series

Buy: Kindle Ebook Review Boom!
