Deep<\/i> is the fourth book in the Stage Dive series written by Kylie Scott. I loved the previous three books so I was confident that Kylie would wrap the series up nicely. I was not wrong and I loved it. Like the books before, this one sucked me in immediately and had me turning pages all night long until I reached the final page. I love surprise pregnancy stories and this one did not disappoint.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019d been knocked up by a rock star.
\nBig deal.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Deep\u00a0<\/i>begins with Lizzy discovering that she is pregnant. The pregnancy comes as a shock and she knows she needs to tell Ben, the father of the baby. She hasn’t talked to him in four months and their last interaction wasn’t a pleasant one, so its not something she is looking forward to. At the worst possible time and in the worst possible way, the news of the pregnancy is revealed. Then the story flashes back in time to the events that lead to this surprise.<\/p>\n

Lizzy is the sister of Anne, who is attached at the hip to Stage Dive band member, Mal. This connection has Lizzy hanging out with the band, and the bassist, Ben, has caught her eye. Ben has been told to stay away from Lizzy and he has all intention to do that.<\/p>\n

Lizzy is persistent though and starts to break down his walls. We see a sweet friendship form through text messages but it never goes further. Ben has made it clear that nothing will happen between them, so Lizzy takes some time to get over him and distances herself. However, by the time they are thrown together again for Anne and Mal’s wedding, the pent up sexual tension that has been brewing between them from the beginning becomes too much to deny.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are you here?\u201d I reached back behind my head and grabbed his wrists, stilling him. \u201cBen?\u201d
\n\u201cBecause apparently I\u2019m shit at staying away from you.\u201d
\n\u201cThen I guess we have a problem.\u201d Our fingers meshed, holding on tight.
\n\u201cThat\u2019s putting it fucking mildly.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ben and Lizzy share one hot, passionate night; however, come morning things go downhill fast. Lizzy kicks him out of the hotel room and she\u00a0avoids\u00a0him\u00a0for as long as she can. \u00a0It isn’t until months later that she has a reason to talk to him. After Ben finds out about the pregnancy, it takes him a while to come to terms with how his life is going to change. He wants to support Lizzy and the baby but he is not relationship material and does not want to give up his lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Ben was a man living his dream. As if anyone could compete with that. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When they finally give a relationship a try\u00a0it is hot and sweet, but\u00a0it’s not all butterflies and rainbows. Ben isn’t used to relationships and has trouble adapting to the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was never trying to change you,\u201d I said, finding my last ounce of bravery and staring Ben in the face. \u201cI just wanted some of your time, your attention. I wanted to be a part of what you love.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I loved Lizzy. She was a fantastic heroine. So real, so funny. I loved getting into her head and found myself cracking up throughout the book. She understandably freaks out but she was also mature about the situation.<\/p>\n

Ben was a hero that grew on my towards the end. He cared deeply for Lizzy and the attraction was always there, he just didn’t know how to handle the situation. He enjoyed his life the way it was and he wanted to do right by Lizzy but just didn’t know what that all entails.<\/p>\n

I loved Lizzy and Ben together. Their chemistry was hot and their banter had me laughing.<\/p>\n

Still not breaking eye contact, he slid a finger into me. \u201cYou\u2019re very wet.\u201d
\n\u201cYeah. You know, it\u2019s kind of hard to focus on relationship talk when you\u2019re fingering me.\u201d
\n\u201cWe can talk all you want later. Promise.\u201d
\n\u201c\u2019 kay.\u201d I made a pitiful noise in my throat…
\n\u201cI mean, you got hot for me in Vegas. But this \u2026 Sweetheart, Christ, this is fucking awesome.\u201d
\n\u201cI masturbate. A lot.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I loved seeing the other Stage Dive men and their women. I loved their\u00a0fierce loyalty to Lizzy and I loved when the guys tried to talk sense into Ben and how slowly Ben started realizing what he needed to do.<\/p>\n

It was a rocky road to their HEA, and though Ben annoyed me with some of his actions, I loved this story. The epilogue was a perfect ending to the Stage Dive series.<\/p>\n

“You can have my time, and you can have my attention,” he said, words slow and deliberate. “Sweetheart, you can have whatever the fuck you want, I promise. Whatever you need. No more holding back, no more fear.”<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
