Another great read from Corinne Michaels! A fiery, fast-moving love story that is full of chemistry and a whole lot of heart.<\/p>\n

This book is a standalone, but it does tie in with Corinne\u2019s latest contemporary releases, We Own Tonight<\/a> and One Last Time<\/a>, centered around a group of four best friends. So while you can read this one on its own, it will probably mean more to you if you\u2019ve read the other two books first \u2013 and of course beware spoilers for the earlier stories.<\/p>\n

Nicole is the brash and bold friend of the group. The no-nonsense, say-it-like-it-is woman who takes charge, lives her life on her own terms and makes no apologies for it. She has been burned badly in love before and has no desire to go there again, so she shuns relationships and any kind of commitment, but that doesn\u2019t mean she\u2019s alone. She has no trouble finding men \u2013 sometimes two at a time. But she never hangs around for long, and she never ever gets involved with clients of her interior design firm.<\/p>\n

It takes one accidental meeting with British businessman Callum Huxley for Nicole to be smitten. They share a heated moment that sparks something more, but that doesn\u2019t end up going anywhere, and when Nicole learns that he is the CEO of the company that she is putting in a bid with, he immediately becomes completely off limits. But Callum is not so quickly deterred.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, it\u2019s just never a good idea for people to get involved when there\u2019s some kind of\u2026whatever between them.\u201d<\/em>

This is a really fun set up, made all the more fantastic because Callum is a man determined to get the girl. He is smart, witty and all kinds of sexy, and he doesn\u2019t give a damn about Nicole\u2019s rules. He knows what he wants, and he goes after it, and the chemistry between the two of them is absolutely electric! There is banter and teasing as the two of them go head-to-head in a flirty battle of the wills, and there is a whole lot of steamy build-up until the inevitable happens, and it\u2019s all kinds of hot!<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will happen again, love. Mark my words. I\u2019m going to fuck you so good that all your rules about us won\u2019t even matter. I hope you\u2019re ready.\u201d<\/em>
\nI smile, grip his hair, and pull him back so we\u2019re eye to eye. \u201cBring it.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They both know that what they have found is something that you don\u2019t experience with just anyone, but underneath all of Nicole\u2019s bold brashness, there is genuine fear there. Though they have no trouble sexing each other up at every opportunity, Callum knows he has to be gentle, and the shift to a real relationship is beautifully done.<\/p>\n

His hand moves back up to my face, pushing the hair back in a tender motion. \u201cSay yes, Nicole. Say you\u2019ll be mine.\u201d<\/em>
\nI open my mouth to refuse, but I won\u2019t lie to him or myself. \u201cI vowed I\u2019d never do this.\u201d I say with my heart on my sleeve. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t until I met you that I wanted to break it. Don\u2019t shatter my heart, Callum.\u201d<\/em>
\nWith that, he enters me, kissing my lips. \u201cI won\u2019t. I promise.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s a sweet romance, but of course there are ups and downs, and this book is also very much Nicole\u2019s journey as she navigates this new stage in her life. It\u2019s nothing she ever expected, and nothing she was looking for, and watching her deal with it is a huge part of the story. And through it all Callum is just perfect! Nicole is not the easiest person to love, but he proves himself up to the challenge, and I fell for him so hard.<\/p>\n

His hand lifts, brushing against my cheek. \u201cI\u2019m pretty sure you\u2019ve stolen my heart, Nicole. I\u2019m also sure I don\u2019t want it back.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It all moves very quickly, but I was right on board, and I enjoyed watching these two find their HEA. The girls from the previous books are all a big part of the story, and I loved their interactions \u2013 they tease and bitch at each other, but they unquestionably have each other\u2019s backs, and they are so much fun together! And after the events of this one, I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!<\/p>\n
