The second instalment in the Hollywood Chronicles<\/i> series, this is another quick, fast-paced celebrity romance from AL Jackson and Rebecca Shea. It\u2019s fun, sexy and swoonily romantic with a touch of fairytale – as in, switch off from the outside world, and enjoy the wild ride.<\/p>\n

This book ties into the first, and actually takes place at the same time, which I thought was really cleverly done. Elle is the best friend of Kaylee from One Wild Night<\/i>, and she is the one that didn\u2019t show up to her direct father\u2019s Hollywood premiere, leaving Kaylee to literally fall into superstar Pax and start their story.<\/p>\n

Well, Elle had her own drama that night, while ogling a hot underwear model on a billboard she backed her car into a man on a motorbike, and what do you know, it\u2019s billboard guy in all of his hotness, who is injured, understandably annoyed, but still surprisingly playful.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you hurt?\u201d
\n\u201cWhat does it look like, Princess? I just got mowed down with a BMW. I think my ankle\u2019s broken.\u201d
\n\u201cOh God.\u201d
\n\u201cI usually like to hear that under different circumstances. Why don\u2019t we try again when I\u2019m not so\u2026incapacitated?\u201d
\nMy eyes narrowed. \u201cAre you coming on to me right now?\u201d
\n\u201cDid you just run me over right now?\u201d he shot back.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kas the underwear model is immediately smitten by the woman who ran into him, and he uses his broken leg as a way to get close to her, declaring her as his next of kin at the hospital, and moving himself into Elle\u2019s house upon his discharge from hospital so that she can care for him in his temporarily disabled state. It\u2019s completely unrealistic and slightly ridiculous, but for the sake of a quick romance read, I was happy to go along with it because it\u2019s such a fun setup.<\/p>\n

Kas wants Elle. He makes no secret of that, and he does everything he can to make it happen. Elle also wants Kas, but when she learns that Kas is trying to break into acting, she refuses to go there with him, having been burnt by people using her and her family connections for selfish reasons. So we have mad attraction, building sexual tension, and no outlet. And the more time they spend together, the more their feelings deepen. It\u2019s a powder keg ready to blow, and we just get to sit back and enjoy the chemistry.<\/p>\n

Kas is such a swoony hero! He is beautifully romantic and he\u2019s not afraid to let his feelings out, and I loved that! He\u2019s passionate and sexy, and such a sweet heart, and I loved him!<\/p>\n

The sexiest man alive, and there he stood, ready to adore me. \u201cI think I\u2019m falling for you.\u201d
\n\u201cGood thing, baby, because I\u2019m already right there ready to catch you.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Elle is a little bit more work. She is scarred deeply from her past experiences and she guards her heart fiercely. Honestly, she annoyed me, and I found some of her reactions to be very extreme and there just for the sake of building drama – which didn\u2019t need to be as intense as it was, and is what stopped me from loving this book. The story already felt a bit surreal, but the conflict was eye-rolling and then ultimately resolved very easily and conveniently.<\/p>\n

But it does finish well, with a sweet and satisfying conclusion to the love story, and I liked how it played out in the end (especially loving the tie-in to Jackson\u2019s previous work).<\/p>\n
