I adored this book! A smart, aspiring romance writer and a football god who fall for each other, Ryker and Penelope are just so good together and they instantly put a goofy grin on my face.\u00a0It\u2019s fast-paced, slow-burn, addictive, swoony sports romance that is so much more than what I thought it would be. The \u201cbet\u201d theme has been done before but I Bet You<\/i> puts a fresh, unique twist on it, and I couldn\u2019t stop myself from devouring this book.<\/p>\n

Penelope is sweet, sassy, and funny. I loved her character and the fact that she was independent and could hold her own. The things that come out of her mouth are hilarious and her vivid fantasies are full of heat.\u00a0She wants to find love and she thinks she knows what she wants and what she definitely doesn\u2019t want \u2013 a football player. Too bad she wasn\u2019t prepared for Ryker.<\/p>\n

Ryker is sexy, smart, cocky, and charming. I loved him!! Talk about a swoony guy. He\u2019s a star quarterback but there is pressure to be the best and Ryker\u2019s insecurities are very real. It\u2019s easy to hide his vulnerabilities when people love you for what you do instead of who you are as a person. And Ryker is a great person.\u00a0It was so cute seeing him out of his element as he was trying to get Penelope to see him as more than a football player on\u00a0and\u00a0off the field. It\u2019s entertaining watching them banter as she is thrown off kilter when she gets a whole new side to him.\u00a0 Ryker gets under her skin\u00a0and I loved seeing her challenged.<\/p>\n

I study his face, taking in the hard jut of his jaw and the shadows I think I see in his eyes. I\u2019ve been imagining him as a carefree asshole, putting labels on him in my own way. Sure, he\u2019s not the golden boy I once thought he was, but black sheep looks good on him, too.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I loved watching their friendship grow and the slow burning romance start to bloom. They can’t deny their electric connection and the sexual tension builds deliciously the more time they spend together. They are a perfect mix of sugar and spice and they really know how to turn up the heat.<\/p>\n

The angst, the drama, and the emotion were all well placed and believable. The road to coupledom is bumpy but unique and I loved that it wasn\u2019t the standard storyline when it comes to the bet. When the truth comes out there are broken hearts left in it’s wake and I loved how Ryker was determined to make Penelope understand his feelings no matter how much she pushed him away. His love was real and he wasn\u2019t giving it up.<\/p>\n

“I’m more of who I should be with you, and I promise you, I will never let you down like that again.” He cups my face, his gaze intense. “You…are…everything.”<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Overall, I Bet You<\/i> is an original, entertaining sports romance \u00a0and I loved it! I love The Hook Up<\/i><\/a> series and I can\u2019t wait for more. I hope Blaze and Charisma are next because they are really something together!<\/p>\n
