3.5 fun and steamy stars<\/b><\/p>\n

This is a quick read that loosely fits into The Original Sinners<\/i> series \u2013 it\u2019s set in the same world, with mentions of previous characters, and cameos from our favourite Dominatrix and her \u2018Sir\u2019, but this book can easily stand alone. It\u2019s a fast-paced romance with a heavy dose of smut and kink as a shy cowboy finally discovers who he is when he meets his match in a bold and feisty, professional submissive.<\/p>\n

Jason is an ex-bullrider who now runs a horse ranch. He\u2019s shy and fairly quiet, but he has agreed to step in for a friend and be photographed for a risqu\u00e9 calendar. When he meets photographer, Simone, he is immediately captivated, and when she openly discusses her part-time job as a professional submissive, he is intrigued, but isn\u2019t sure whether they\u2019ll be a good fit.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, Jason,\u201d Simone said, smiling down at him. \u201cI think I could go crazy about you pretty fast, but I\u2019m not going to get involved with a guy who treats women like they\u2019ll break if you so much as breathe on them. If you want to respect women, respect the real woman in front of you, not some fake fantasy idea of what women are supposed to be like.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For years, Jason has fantasized about dominating women, but his strict upbringing left its mark on him, and he believes his thoughts and desires are wrong so he\u2019s never acted on them. But here is a woman telling him that not only is he not abnormal, but that she is just like him, and she shares all the things he wants. And when she offers to show him just how good all of those dirty fantasies can be in real life, it\u2019s all on.<\/p>\n

It seemed too good to be true almost, that he\u2019d stumbled across a woman who loved being treated like his personal sexual property. He\u2019d been so resigned to keeping his fantasies as fantasies. He felt like a kid who asked for a bicycle for Christmas when he really wanted a Porsche, never requesting his real desire because he knew for a fact it was a waste of a wish. But here she was\u2026underneath him … and loving every wicked thing he did to her as much as he loved doing it. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jason takes to the Dom role easily and naturally, but he is still gentle and sweet with Simone, and though their \u2018play\u2019 is steamy hot, there\u2019s a sense of fun to them as well as they joke, tease and laugh together. The domination is fairly tame as Jason initially needs some guidance, so Simone has a strong voice in all that goes on between them, and the kink isn\u2019t too extreme \u2013 definitely tamer than other books in the series. The sex is plentiful, descriptive and all kinds of hot, but there\u2019s a growing emotional element to their relationship as well. Their time together \u2013 in and out of the bedroom \u2013 brings them closer to together and quickly and unexpectedly, they begin to fall for each other.<\/p>\n

She was having as much fun as he was doing all this crazy kinky stuff. And if he liked it and she liked it and they liked it together\u2026then maybe it wasn\u2019t so crazy after all.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But can Jason reconcile all that he has discovered with Simone, with who he was raised to be? And how will Simon deal with a man that can\u2019t openly accept her? It\u2019s a great ride as they figure it all out, and in a scene that had me grinning from ear to ear, they even get a little helpful advice along the way from a certain Sadist.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven when it\u2019s meant to be, it isn\u2019t necessarily meant to be <\/i>easy.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I really enjoyed this read. Short and sexy, it\u2019s fast paced, which doesn\u2019t give you a lot of time to fully connect to the characters, but I really liked them and I was invested in them getting their HEA, and I liked the way their story played out. And I do love the way Reisz writes, so that was definitely a treat.<\/p>\n

Steamy and fun! 3.5 stars!<\/p>\n
