5 emotional powerhouse stars<\/b><\/p>\n

Wow, what a read. Intense, dramatic and emotional, I was so sucked into this story and I\u2019m feeling so book hungover right now. The feels<\/i>! Kate Stewart has delivered an engaging, angsty, romantic and heartbreaking story that shattered me, but that ultimately melted me and completely owned my heart from start to finish. You don\u2019t just read this book, you experience<\/i> it, and I loved it! (And can I just say that that cover slays me every time I look at it\u2026 *dreamy sigh*).<\/p>\n

Mila and Lucas are married, happy, madly in love and completely besotted with each other. Lucas is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood, devoted to his craft and desperate for success and security after coming from nothing. Mila is not in the business, but she is fully accepting of the strain that Lucas\u2019 job has on their life, and though they have had some ups and downs, together they have worked hard to make their marriage work.<\/p>\n

I need our connection. I am his life and he is mine and that\u2019s the only way we\u2019ve ever worked.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Everything begins to change for them when Lucas\u2019 best friend, Blake, a fellow actor, dies unexpectedly. What an incredible journey we get to go on with these two. The timeline of the book shifts between the present, months earlier to the beginning of Lucas taking on his latest role, and to the past so we get to see them meeting and falling for each other. Their love story is passionate, intense and absolutely stunning, and I loved watching as Hollywood\u2019s golden boy falls for the \u2018normal\u2019 girl and fights for her love, and I fell in love right along with them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think you\u2019re a reward for my patience. I\u2019ve never had anyone there for me, not like this. I feel a sort of peace I\u2019ve never had before.\u201d Tears trail down my cheeks. \u201cYou changed my luck, Dame. And for the first time in my life, I feel like if I ever need rescuing, I\u2019ll have somebody there to help save me.\u201d
\nAny brick or mortar I have left surrounding my heart disintegrates with his confession. He gives me all his trust, and I take it, and in return, I give him mine. Because he is worth it. \u201cI will, Lucas. If you ever need saving, I\u2019ll be there. I promise.\u201d
\nHe presses his forehead to mine. \u201cI\u2019m counting on it.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

You read their story wondering how they can possibly get to the point they are at in the present, and then we get to watch in excruciating detail as Lucas loses himself completely. You can feel it all unraveling and the writing is so beautiful!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m sure the idea of success is far better than success itself. That realization has me paralyzed where I sit. I\u2019ve traveled a million miles and gone fucking nowhere.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The feels are intense and the angst is heartwrenching, and I ached for all that the two of them were going through.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think you even know who you are anymore.\u201d I\u2019m crying again, and I hate it, but I\u2019m fighting for the love of my life, and he\u2019s lost in some oblivion I have no map for. He\u2019s the only one with the clues. \u201cI miss you so much.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They have a true battle on their hands as they fight to find their way back to each other, and it\u2019s all so heartachingly raw. I felt it all with them and I couldn\u2019t put this book down.<\/p>\n

Humans are gloriously flawed, and some types of love are never truly unconditional. A lot of my mistake was expecting our love to stay perfect, because a lot of the time, it was. It\u2019s wanting our love even after we\u2019ve seen the imperfections that makes or breaks us.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But don\u2019t let the angst in this book frighten you off. It\u2019s not always an easy read, I cried and ached right along with the characters, but OMG it\u2019s worth it. Their situation is hard, but their love for each other absolutely shines, and the end of this book left me teary-eyed but swooning.<\/p>\n

Another powerhouse read from Kate Stewart. I loved it.<\/p>\n
