Switch off your brain and embrace the (crude-as-all-hell) ridiculousness that is this hilariously entertaining story <\/b><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re into rude, crude and juvenile humour, this book could be for you. It\u2019s the coming together of two highly sexed, totally filterless people who have a near-obsession over certain parts of each other\u2019s anatomies. Super smutty and slightly ridiculous in its overt vulgarity but with a great romance, I was able to disconnect from real life for a while and enjoy the brainlessness of it all.<\/p>\n

OK, so confession time: this is actually my second attempt at reading this book. The first time I tried I just couldn\u2019t get into it, but this time around I must have been feeling particularly immature, because I laughed and laughed, and had a great time with it.<\/p>\n

Violet is a young and vibrant woman, she has a tendency to vomit forth whatever thought is in her head, and more often than not, that thought is dirty. Violet\u2019s step-brother, Buck is a professional hockey player, and while out celebrating his team\u2019s win after a game one night she is immediately drawn to his team captain, Alex Waters. After a painful encounter with a hockey player in the past, Violet has made a promise to herself to avoid hockey manwhores \u2013 and Alex has one of the worst reputations of all \u2013 but there is something about him, and she soon gets caught up in a moment of lust and some pretty intense \u201cmouth fucking\u201d.<\/p>\n

We were fucking each other\u2019s mouths with our tongues. This is otherwise referred to as kissing, but mouth fucking sounds way dirtier, so I\u2019m gonna go with that. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She does her best to walk away, but after a night of flirting with fantastic banter, the two of them fall into bed together for some hot and sexy time which blows both of their minds.<\/p>\n

I struggle to pop the button on his pants and pull down the zipper. Alex watches my hand disappear inside. It has to look good from his point of view. How can it not? Someone else\u2019s hand in your pants is a winner of a situation. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Violet is happy to write it off a as an uncharacteristic one night stand, but Alex seems to be hooked and sets about pursuing her with constant messages, flowers, and quirky gifts, and as hard as she tries, she can\u2019t resist him. And she soon learns that there\u2019s so much more to the alleged manwhore than she could have ever imagined. Sexually, the two of them are on fire, but Alex is also sweet, charming and incredibly down-to-earth and his reputation is not all as it seems.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you in your jammies?\u201d His voice is so low it\u2019s almost a rumble.
\n\u201cPardon?\u201d
\n\u201cSorry, nothing. I didn\u2019t mean to ask that. It just came out. I\u2019m sorry.\u201d
\nAnd here I thought I was the awkward one. Maybe Alex is drunk dialing me. I go with it, lowering my voice to what I hope is a sultry whisper. \u201cDo you want to know what I\u2019m wearing?\u201d
\n\u201cYes. No. Is this a trick question? Only if you won\u2019t hang up on me for saying yes, otherwise no.\u201d
\nHe\u2019s cute, even for a manwhore.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I really enjoyed Violet and Alex together. They are compatible in so many ways \u2013 of course sexually (with sizzling chemistry), but they are also just as ridiculous as each other and they have a lot of fun together. Their relationship progresses naturally and realistically, and I love that we get to see so much time with them together and happy as they fall in love.<\/p>\n

In some ways their relationship seems so easy, but it\u2019s complicated by external factors -, the ever-present press and puck-bunnies who constantly fawn all over Alex, overly intrusive family members, seemingly disapproving family members, the fact that they are trying to keep it a secret from Alex\u2019s teammates (Violet\u2019s step-brother included), and Alex\u2019s unfavourable reputation.<\/p>\n

The story is written mostly from Violet\u2019s POV, with some chapters from Alex\u2019s perspective, and it gives us a great picture of how they are feeling and where they are both at – especially when Alex really starts to struggle with the pressures of juggling his professional responsibilities with his increasingly meaningful personal life. It\u2019s not all rainbows and orgasms, and Violet and Alex have to work for the HEA, but it\u2019s all handled well, and I was really happy with how it all ended up.<\/p>\n

Like I said, the humour in this book is mostly sexual in nature and incredibly juvenile, and it\u2019s pretty much constant. If terms like \u2018beaver\u2019, \u2018mouth fucking\u2019 and \u2018love pillows\u2019 has you tittering like a teenage boy, and the vision of a penis with its very own super-hero cape makes you snort with laughter, then you\u2019ll probably enjoy this book. If not, then you will probably find the whole thing vulgar and silly. For me, it was wholly dependent upon my mood (and the fact that the audiobook narration is stellar!), and it looks like I picked this one up at just the right time and I was able to appreciate it for what it was and enjoy the ridiculous ride.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m looking forward to reading the next book in the series \u2013 Buck\u2019s story.<\/p>\n
