It’s a web of mystery and twists, deception and revelations. It’s an exciting, complicated, addictive psychological thriller that will make you question every part of the story as we desperately seek the truth with Hailey.

Hailey’s father is running for President and therefore, she has been groomed to be the perfect first daughter. She grew up searching for normalcy in a world of politics where she was never able to be herself. On the outside her family looks perfect but on the inside they are far from happy. Tragedy took the love she once knew and forever altered things between her and her father. Now, when another tragedy strikes, she can’t just sit back and be the perfect daughter. She won’t accept the answers he gives her; she knows there’s something more. Lies and secrets push her to her limit and she has no other option than to search for answers in hopes to discover the truth.

A Perfect Lie is a complex story with so many moving parts. We get bits and pieces of the past and present as we see first-hand the life Hailey has led. Each chapter opens with a glimpse into Hailey’s confession and then we delve deeper into the past when everything changed.

It was easy to get sucked into this story. It seemed the more pages I turned, the less I knew. Theories started forming with every clue that was revealed, and I thought I had an idea what was happening, only to be pleasantly surprised that I didn’t figure it out at all. With every twist something new was exposed and I questioned everything. I didn’t know who was good or who was bad. I didn’t know who to trust. There was so much conflicting information that I didn’t know what was real and what was fake, and I loved the mystery and suspense that came with all the confusion.

The story is well-paced and I loved watching it unfold. It’s complicated and doesn’t happen all at once. It seems that each time one piece of the puzzle finally fits another one is pushed aside. There were times when the story slowed down and gave you time to think things through only to then speed up and change everything you thought. It’s intense and the anticipation of what was to come made it difficult to put this book down. I needed the truth, and wow what a truth it was! I did not see that coming!!

Though I primarily read romance now, I am so glad I gave A Perfect Lie a chance. Maybe that’s a coincidence and maybe it’s not. Maybe he’s testing how well I execute my cover story. The possibilities are many. Though in all fairness to Logan, perhaps I’d lean toward his innocence, if not for the laundry list of recent events such as Tobey being gay and the FBI agent, who is likely working for my father, that I slept with to prove I was a) still desirable and b) not a killer.

About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones is the author of the highly acclaimed INSIDE OUT series.

In addition to the success of Lisa’s INSIDE OUT series, she has published many successful titles.
