Oh, TM Frazier, what an incredible world you have created with this series! Back to Logan\u2019s Beach we go for the story of Nine \u2013 AKA Kevin Clearwater, younger brother of the amazing Preppy \u2013 and what a wild ride it is! Heartbreaking, exciting, unexpected, sexy and gorgeously romantic, I devoured this book in one sitting and I absolutely loved it!<\/p>\n

This is book #9 in the King<\/i> series, and while it can be read as a standalone, be aware that it contains spoilers for earlier books in the series. And the book has some twists and turns of its own, so I\u2019m going to keep this review really vague.<\/p>\n

This book introduces us to a teenage Kevin who is desperate to escape his living in hellish conditions. We see the heartwrenching horrors that he is subjected to, his arrival in Logan\u2019s Beach and his introduction to his brother which puts him on the path to a whole new life. We also see him meet a girl who will change his world.<\/p>\n

Lenore (Lenny) has a whole set of troubles of her own. Her life is literally falling apart around her, and she has unknowingly become the focus of bad attention on multiple fronts \u2013 one of those being Nine himself. Under the guise of \u2018protection\u2019, she is brought into the fold and, like Nine, her life will never be the same again.<\/p>\n

I thought I was broken before, but the more time I spend with Poe, the more I realize that I have no idea what broken is.
\nBecause when all of this is over, I know without a doubt that one way or another, she\u2019ll be the one who truly breaks me<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God, I love these characters! It\u2019s the unique characters and their fantastic dynamics that truly make this series, and this book is no different. Nine is a total badass, but he\u2019s not overt about it, and he has his brother\u2019s wicked sense of humour, but he\u2019s not as OTT with it. He\u2019s quieter, more serious, with an irresistible vulnerability and a drive to prove himself, and I absolutely loved him! And as a romantic hero\u2026 damn. He\u2019s a sweetheart with a bit of a nasty side, and when he falls, he falls hard, and I freaking loved it!<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, what\u2019ll it be, brother? She yours?\u201d Bear asks, looking highly amused.
\nI look through the sliding glass doors and catch a glimpse of Lenny\u2019s long brown hair … A feeling inside me more powerful than any drug I\u2019ve ever sampled takes hold.
\n<\/i>Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine to protect. Mine to\u2026
\nI don\u2019t even have to finish the thought. I have my answer.
\n\u201cYeah, she\u2019s mine.\u201d
\nKing looks into the house, a grin spread across his face. \u201cThe question is, does she know that?\u201d
\n… \u201cNo,\u201d I stand and toss my beer in the trash. \u201cBut she\u2019s going to find out.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Squee! Yes, King, Bear, Preppy and their girls are along for the ride, which is all kinds of awesome. They have enfolded Nine into their family, and I loved seeing the group all together. And as always, Preppy is a total scene stealer (as is little Bo!). I loved seeing him in big brother mode, and he\u2019s just as outrageously awesome as ever.<\/p>\n

Preppy leans back on the siding and hooks his thumbs under his suspenders, stretching and releasing them several times before he speaks. \u201cSooo\u2026I hate to be the bearer of interesting news, but you\u2019re looking at her like you want to eat her. Stalk much?\u201d
\n\u201cNo, I\u2019m fucking not,\u201d I snap defensively. Too defensively.
\nPreppy releases his suspenders and holds up his hands like he\u2019s on the receiving end of a hold-up. \u201cWhoa, whoa. Don\u2019t go getting your panties in a twist, little brother. I didn\u2019t say stalking was a bad thing. In fact, if you need some pointers, I\u2019d be happy to enroll you in Preppy\u2019s How To Stalk Like a Mofo 101.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And, of course, Lenny is a great heroine \u2013 she\u2019s very relatable and a bit of a smartass with vulnerabilities of her own, and as wild as their fire and passion for each other is, she and Nine share a softness which is really beautiful and which brings a lot of heart to the story.<\/p>\n

The romance is all kinds of intense, and it\u2019s a bit of a slow build, which I really appreciated. There\u2019s a true emotional connection between them, and I love that that has time to develop as it creates a gorgeous love story that is sweet and honest, but also raw, powerful and passionate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis, with Nine, is downright nuclear. And any second, we\u2019re both going to fucking explode.\u201d<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I loved this book. Nine and Lenny\u2019s story is emotional and exciting with a whole lot of chemistry, and twists and turns which keep the book moving at a great pace with lots of surprises along the way. I thought the ending moved a bit too fast (at one point I was freaking out that there would be a cliffhanger and another book to wait for), and that’s why it’s not a full 5 stars, but the story ends in a great place with an epilogue which finishes off the story nicely.<\/p>\n

Nine absolutely stole my heart, and I loved seeing him become a part of the Logan\u2019s Beach crew. This was such a great read – 4.5 stars<\/p>\n

I look up into his dark eyes. \u201cThis is a dangerous game of cat and mouse we\u2019re playing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMore like a game of cat and bird,\u201d he corrects.<\/p>\n

I straighten my posture, my nipples grazing his hard chest. \u201cAnd we all know how that turns out in the end. The cat eats the bird.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nine lightly scrapes his nails over my bare arms before pressing them into my skin. I gasp at the slight bite of pain. \u201cNo, the pretty bird swoops down from nowhere
\nand sinks her sharp talons into the cat, marking him for life.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no sarcasm in his voice. I don\u2019t know how to begin to process what it is he\u2019s saying. It takes all of my concentration to get out my next few words.<\/p>\n
